I arrived to Bilbao and its the week of celebrations of the city.
It's very crowded today here, the roads are closed , so I had to walk a bit...
there are some orchestras playing in the squares, very nice atmosphere.
It's full of temporary bars, beers, pinchos and whatever comes with that!
I am in the beautiful village of Puenteday, which is build on a natural bridge.
I spent €8,30 but I bought some other things besides food.
The food was about €6, and it supposed to last 2 days....
That price includes my breakfast as well.
Good morning, good morning!
The day started really good....
... with a dirt road
I am going to "Devils canyon"
I hope this road leads there... I am not sure
And because its still early in the morning I am going to take it easy for now
I just run out of road....
I am just 1 km away....
#$@$
I am going to turn around and try another way.
I am in the canyon of Lobos river, and I am going to find the "viewpoint of the devil"
That was the cave of Saint Bartholomew.
He was a Hermit here and afterwards the church was build
How is it possible to end up in dirtroads all the time....
So I am in the "Route of the faces"
Some artists carved a lot of faces on the rocks of this hiking trail.
All of the are about 15.... First one is a baby in a pelvis, at 2000
The walk is great, it's about 1km long and the reservoir is right next to the trail.
If it wasn't that hot as well....
These artists have too much imagination
It's a great place for a small break, for about an hour.
There is no better place to enjoy the houses of Cuenca, than the hill with the statue that overwatch the city.
Good morning from the amazing Cuenca!
I pitched my tent on the hill last night, because I was taking pictures until late and darkness was upon me.
So I though, its a good idea to pitch a tent up here... I had a great view as well.
and I met some incredible guys last night.
They came to spent the night with some pizzas, some drinks and some shisha.
And I want to thank them very much for the nice time, the laughter and the conversation we had.
It's way too hot today... I woke up because I was boiling in the tent.
Look at this view of Cuenca!
Look at this!
The hanging houses of Cuenca!
UNESCO World heritage monument! and the old city
The city is a castle town, build in the face of a canyon so it can be a natural fortress from one side.
and there were some walls as well.
The Old city is under protection from UNESCO, and there are very few locals living inside.
It's mostly touristic apartments or student apartments, because parking is not permitted in the old town as well.
It's a very beautiful city. I recommend you to visit it!
So that's it for now... Today I am continuing to Madrid
I am in Toledo! First stop i make is at the viewpoint of the city.
It's a fantastic view from up here!
The former capital of Spain, build on a hill and surrounded by river Tajo...
It was a natural fortress!
Good evening from Madrid!
Madrid has been the capital of Spain since 1700s, after Toledo
Before Madrid becomes the city we know today,
it was just a small village surrounded by thick forests and a lot of bears
The King, who loved to hunt, decided to move the palace closer to the forrest.
I am in the Sun's square, because there was the "Gate of Sun"
There was the walls of the old city.
When the city started to grow bigger, they decided to demolish the walls for more housing buildings,
so he created the Plaza of Sol, which has the shape of a sun if you look from above.
Here is the point zero of Madrid. They used this point to calculate all the distances to the capital.
The legend says that if you stand on the point zero, then you are definitely coming back to Madrid!
And why not!
I am in Picos de Europa national park.
Yesterday everything was covered in this thick cloud, but today I woke up with a great view.
This is the end of the road.... from now there is a dirt road....
..... this GPS....
I am in the Playa des las Cathedrales!
I am in Santiago de Compostela! The city os very famous fro the Camino de Santiago...
