Energy and data are fundamental elements of our digital world.
Making cable systems more important than ever.
They become in fact, the backbone of our digital society.
A broken cable in a production environment can easily mean
millions of dollars in down-time costs. It can shut down an entire airport for several days.
Or in the worst case scenario, it can cause harm to the health an safety of the people around it.
The integrity of our cable systems, the security and reliability of the data
and energy transmission, is more important than ever.
Up to now, cables are "black boxes".
It is not possible to determine the condition of the cable from just looking at it.
The cables are often not accessible. They are integrated into vehicles, trains,
production lines, machines or even robots.
For example water penetrating the cable or even a broken cable
can not be detected today or only with very high efforts.
This may lead to severe consequences.

and I was at the Miops booth and had a quick chat with them about their current products
and the future products they will release soon which have been crowdfunded recently
the main language on this channel is german but since the interview was in english

I just want to talk a bit about their current products of Miops and the company itself and what is coming in the future
Tell us a bit about the Miops company, about yourself and the products you produce
Hello everyone, I am Emir, I am one of the cofounders of the company
Miops produces camera triggers for photographers and video producers
our products are mainly to trigger your camera for high speed and creative occasions
and recently we have also produced a motion box
so right now we are also in the video market
tell me about the existing products a bit, what can I buy now from you
our most loved product is the Miops smart trigger
it is a camera and flash trigger for high speed photography and timelapse
and HDR, you can do a lot of stuff with it
but it is very famous for lightning and highspeed photography
so when the lightning strikes you can take a picture of it very easily
because it triggers your camera in less than a millisecond
and also you can do highspeed photography with your regular camera by triggering the flash
so you freeze the moments, this is somthing that you cannot do unless you have a very expensive camera
so this is the real advantage of the Miops smart
ok this sounds very interesting, much more advanced than the in built timelapse functions that some of the mirrorless cameras have now
this means I can set up your box on my camera and tell it
ok I have a lightning storm here - capture the next lightnin... how does this work?
Actually we have a built in interface
with an app running on your smartphone
and you can configure anything using the app
and the best thing is, you can even combine two different modes
so you can say run the lightning mode for a few hours
and after that you can even start a timelapse
and you can finish the sequence with a HDR
this is all done thanks to our intelligent software
on the device and on the smartphone application
and what about the new product, you are at the moment crowdfunding a new product or you have crowdfunded it
and It comes now soon
exactly, the crowdfunding process is over on kickstarter
we had a huge demand on this product
and right now we are actually on face of production developing the product
and it will be available at the end of this year
the product is called Capsule 360
it's basically a versatile motion box
where you can move your camera in different directions
and you can combine different units to move it horizontally
vertically and all together, and also it can be combined with a slider
here we have a motorized slider
it can move a long the slider with the distance and speed
that you can all set up using the application it is a very innovative product
and the kickstarter campaign was successful?
yes it was very successful, we have collected over 600.000$
and right now if you are interested, you can still preorder from Indiegogo
with preorder prices
so you have still the opportunity to preorder Capsule360 before the product is ready
the product is of course in development, what did you change
since the start of the crowdfunding campaign
what did you change in the product itself or maybe in the accessories?
in the first place the slider was working with the Capsule360 in a different way
but we have received a lot of demand from our backers
to turn this into a self motorized slider
and we have done that, so it is much better
it moves smoothly and it is very easy to use
so it is a big advantage for our backers because now they receive the motorized version of the slider
so they have no extra cost to get a motorized slider
exactly, this is a complete, very beneficial product itself
but it is also a part of our campaign
you can also buy only the slider or only the capsule?
yes exactly, you can combine them in different combinations
you can buy whatever you need or if you need all of them, just buy all of them
you have also an L-bracket which we can show later
and you also changed the L-bracket already, the design of it, what did you change there?
the first version of the L-bracket was our first design
so it had some parallax effect which photographers and videographers want to avoid
so we have totally redesigned it
and you can also set the nodal point with the new L-bracket
and we think that our backers will be happy with the new design
and you have also planned very interesting features in the app
like a star tracking feature
how will this work when you are ready?
our app uses your location data, coming from your smartphone
it is able to locate your presence on the earth
and you will be able to do star tracking automatically
this is a huge advantage if you want to do something like that
because you don't need to deal with angle, and motion time and stuff like that
everything will be done automatically
so i just press one button in the app, star tracking starts
let's say how long I want to have my exposure and so on
and then it starts?
exact, it is almost like that
and what other things do you have planned for the app, or already realized
like keyframing or other stuff
our backers want to see focus stacking
so using the slider we will be able to do focus stacking
it will be a key feature of the app
and also we will be adding the feature of multi row panaromas
so they can generate bigger images
like with huge resolution
a big image combined from different images
they will be able to do that with the new version of the app
and this will work with all the main brands I think
Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and so on
as our current products, we want to be compatible
with as many cameras as we can
and the same will be happening for Capsule360 as well
you have changed a lot of course now in the Capsule360 development
will you still be on time now?
you said it's about end of the year
so will it be on time? will the people have it for christmas under their tree?
we are really working hard to make this happen!
we don't see any unforseeen delay for now hopefully this will happen!

Moving Modified Data Using Groovy Rules and Smart Push - Duration: 4:17.
Oracle Planning Cloud provides access to the Groovy scripting language.
Groovy allows you to create context-specific, dynamic business rules that can dramatically improve the performance of calculations and
data movement in your application.
Similar to business rules, you create Groovy rules in Calculation Manager.
You launch Groovy rules from any place a business rule can be run.
With Groovy rules, you can:
dynamically generate calculation scripts at runtime based on context
optimize performance of calculations and Smart Push operations by focusing only on changed data
perform data validations and opt to cancel operations if the data entered violates company policies

In this series of tutorials, you'll learn design best practices on how to use Groovy Rules to perform focused data movement and smart
calculations on planning data.
In this tutorial, we'll show you best practices on how you can use Groovy rules and Smart Push to move modified data into a
reporting cube.
First, let's talk about a typical scenario.
On this data form, our planners modify employee salary and assign a Reporting Manager.
After the form data is saved, Smart Push is run to copy data to the reporting cube for analysis.
At this time, dimensions are also consolidated, if necessary, as the data is being copied.
If the form contains hundreds of rows of data, all of that data is checked against the configured data map, processed for dimension
consolidation—if any is set--and then pushed to the reporting cube.
So, depending on the amount of data on your form, this process may take a while to complete.
You can improve the performance of data synchronization between your input and reporting cubes by designing a Groovy rule
that identifies and isolates the data you modified, and pushes only the isolated data into your reporting cube.
Let's take a look at an example.
We configured a simple data map for Smart Push that maps dimension members from our input cube to our reporting cube.
We prepared forms that display data from our input and reporting cubes.
The form used for data entry has Smart Push enabled and uses the form's context to push data for all the members selected for the
dimensions defined on the form.
For the Groovy Rule, here's what we have.
The script starts by identifying the associated data map for smart push.
This section uses the datacellIterator method to identify edited cells and isolates them.
Then, this section takes the isolated data and runs the focused data movement using Smart Push and the data map configured and
associated with the form.
A message displays when modified data is moved to the reporting cube.
If there are no modifications, a message displays when there are no changes and data was not moved to the reporting cube.
After we created this Groovy rule, we deployed it the same way we deploy business rules.
Then, in form management, associated it with the form.
The Groovy rule runs after the form data is saved.
Now, let's see everything in action.
Here's a quick look at the data in our reporting cube.
I'll go to the input cube's form and make some changes.
I'll click Save and let my Groovy rule run.
Let's check our reporting cube.
Here's our updated data.

The Rain Cloud Experiment | Smart Science - Duration: 1:01.
You can make your own rain cloud, at home!
You will need shaving foam,
a jar full of water,
food colouring
and a syringe.
Cover the top of the jar with a "cloud" of shaving cream.
Then use the syringe,
drop food colouring on to the "cloud" until the
colour starts "raining" into the water below.
This experiment shows you how rain is formed.
The water collects in the clouds until there is too much pressure,
forcing it to leak through as rain.
