Auto news on Youtube Jan 27 2018

Hi, I'm John with another episode of "The Classics"

I'm outside at Tim Hortons, which most of you should recognize

What I have to present today is the Chevrolet Chevette, which was a small car with a Inline 4 engine.

"Why isn't the engine V8?"

Because small cars weren't meant for big engines. They were small, so they required small engines. These were usually found in classic Volvos, and other small cars.

I like how the paint and the interior design is all one color. Stands out, don't you think?

Those tires are the best tires on any car. The bigger the rim is, the more expensive and fancy it is. Compare those tires to a new Corvette's. I like them both, so I'll take both! Ha ha!

The backlights and trunk looks like an AMC Gremlin and Oldsmobile Omega merged with eachother.

If I was sitting in there, I would be like a couch

Thank you all for watching and taking the time to look at a Chevette.

Chevrolet Corvette C2 L88 Review - Duration: 2:00.

This is a Corvette L88, just 1 out of 80 produced worldwide

There is a nice story behind the car

Back in the day, Chevrolet used to make false information about the horsepower of this car

but not to make it look more powerful, instead they wrote a lower horsepower in the brochures

the reason for that was to get rid of people who used to buy just the fastest model of every car

and not knowing how to handle it

the trick was to measure the horsepower at lower engine speed

so the corvette was published with 430 hp

but in reality this L88 would make up to 560 hp at a higher engine speed
