Hello everybody!
We are just getting out of the Kia Euromotor showroom here in Bari
and we're going to have a test drive with the brand new Korean saloon car:
we're in the new Kia Stinger GT!
You told me before, this has a 3.3l Biturbo petrol engine, AWD, with 370hp!
The Stinger is on the market with diesel and petrol engines
back in the showroom we saw the diesel one, the GT Line
this by the way is the GT, the most powerful on the market
First impression as a passenger: this is a quite comfortable saloon
nice wrapping black leather seats
headrest is comfortable
ok this is a sports saloon
but during long trips, with the automatic gearbox and in Comfort Mode this should be quite enjoyable!
Ok with this little acceleration the Stinger gave us a hint of its performance
right behind the automatic gearbox selector
there's a rotor for choosing 5 different driving modes:
Smart, Eco, a travel-friendly Comfort mode, Sport and even Sport +!
The last one is to unleash the 370hp of the car
driving it manually with the aluminum paddles behind the steering wheel
and with no controls at all to make you fully enjoy the driving experience
From the outside you'll have no doubts about it being a sports car:
nice red, many aerodynamic details
from the inside I can see two big black air vents on the hood, black side mirrors
and in the back you have 4 exhaust tips and other air vents
It's not easy make a huge car like this one look like a sports car
and I have to say Kia nailed it!
Well, this car's performances are evident!
By the way, even if we were on a straight line, I felt the car pretty settled
maybe thanks to its weight and the 4 wheel drive
This has tidy interiors:
very few buttons inside, most of them are in the lower part of the central console
for the A/C, the connectivity and the navi
other ones on the steering wheel, but that's it!
Very tidy, this is remarkable on modern cars!
Nice air vents
and on the central console, near the automatic gearbox and the driving modes selectors
there's this cool satin aluminum for the storage boxes
so the Stinger has beautiful interiors!
Quite remarkable is the engine sound, too!
Yeah, even if it is a Biturbo engine, and many people prefer the sound of a naturally aspirated one
it is super cool and vigorous!
Great performances!
0 to 100 kph in this is about 4 seconds!
On a straight line before the Stinger gave proof of excellent performance and stability
Now, on a twisted road it gave us further proof of it
It is very settled on the ground, being an AWD sports saloon with a very low center of gravity
Ok now it's my time behind the wheel of the Stinger GT!
There's traffic right now
but it's not a problem with the automatic and the Comfort Mode
First driving impressions: I feel comfortable behind the wheel, the driver's seat too is wrapping
the steering wheel has right dimensions, not too little, I think it would be uncomfortable on such a huge car
It has flat bottom
and the gearbox paddles behind it give a great feeling
Talking about the beautiful design of the cockpit in front of my eyes, they merged sports and elegance features
Black background, like the interior of the car
on the right there's the odometer dial
with an incredible maximum speed indicated of 300kph!
In the middle there's a screen which indicates the torque, the oil temperature and the pressure of the turbo charger
On the left there's the rev counter
and if the black background makes these dials look elegant
the red hands make them look sporty!
Ok among the buttons of the steering wheel, for media, cruise control and speed limiter
there's a button that changes the infos in the central screen
which now indicates my level of attention
The car detects the attention I put on the drive
and prevent automatically any dangerous behaviours
I can't help but appreciate the interiors of the Stinger
as I said before, it is truly elegant!
Outside has some sporty bits
Inside there's none of it, it is all tidy and elegant!
Maybe other car manufacturers could have put red stitchings and details in the interior
recalling the red paint
but Kia decided to leave it elegant like this! And in my opinion they made the better choice!
Ok let's get back to the Kia Euromotor Bari showroom
It has been a brief but sincerely intense and enjoyable driving experience!
Most of all in the moments when we pushed a bit the gas
So thank you Mr Gino and of course Kia Euromotor Bari
for this exciting test drive with the brand new Stinger GT
