the so called the cognitive job project has finally been given the green light
paving the way for Hyundai Motor to build a manufacturing plant in the
Korea's south-western city and we have our business correspondent Kim Hanul on
the line for us Hasan can you tell us more key on this
project is a joint venture between the Kwangju city government and Hyundai
Motor like you say if they plan to build a factory in the city under the plan
that was agreed to on Wednesday Hyundai will build mini SUV starting from 2021
with an annual production capacity of hundred thousand cars workers will work
forty four hours a week get an annual salary of 35 million Korean Won or
around thirty one thousand US dollars less than half of the average annual
wage that Hyundai Motors unionized workers earn the agreement comes after
months of negotiations when Hyundai Motor first proposed the deal last June
due to a backlash from the labor union who called for a revision to terms which
would suspend annual rate negotiations for the first five years according to
the compromise collective wage bargaining will take place only after
the cumulative output of the new factory reaches 30 350 thousand cars with some
complementary measures added for the workers though the jet detail hasn't
been made public yet so yeah the deal has been reached and an agreement
ceremony will be held at around 2:30 p.m. in Gwangju all right so why is this
deal so significant yeah the deal is significant in a number
of ways as it's a public-private joint venture aimed at creating jobs at home
to help the struggling manufacturing sector and to stem falling facility
investment with the Kwangju city government and Hyundai Motor being the
top two shareholders it's also the first time for Hyundai
Motor to build a factory in Korea in more than two decades as it has
relocated to countries like China citing high labor costs at home for the city
the plant will help create up to 12 thousand new jobs
song Joo with a population of around 1.5 million people saw over 8,000 residents
leave the city in 2017 and two-thirds of them were in their 20s and 30s
so overall the deal is expected to treat more jobs boost the local economy while
more details over how to increase demand to export the extra cars will have to be
fleshed out that's all I have for now back to you

Kia e-Niro vs. Hyundai Kona: Das sind die Unterschiede! - Duration: 8:50.
Welcome to another nextmove video
today we are'nt driving.
we are comparing the two brothers from another mother.
the Kia e-Niro and the Hyundai Kona electro.
Today we are looking for differences between the two vehicles.
and I can tell you we found a lot of differences.
Before we go into the many exciting and hidden differences.
What do these two cars have in common:
Battery capacity and drive train
There are two types of battery sizes. We are comparing the fully equipped versions with 64 kWh battery size.
150 kW power (204 horsepower),
Drag coefficient: 0.29
WLTP range is almost identical.
the e-Niro has 6 km (4 mi) more.
17 inch wheels are standard for both cars.
maintenance interval: 15.000 km (9320 mi) and 1 year
trailor is not allowed
Operating concept, board computer, recuperation pedals the cars are nearly identical.
Both cars are not connected with an App.
And in the fully equiped version as with these two cars, we have full LED headlights.
The lenght of the two cars differs by 20 cm (7.0 inch).
we will see later how this distributes over the car.
Mainly in back seat bench and trunk we will see the main differences.
Let's take a look on the price:
The Hyundai Kona as seen here costs 45.600 €
The Kia e-Niro is supposedly cheaper: 44.790 €
But in to come to a comparable level you have to purchase the leather package and the charging cable.
The price accumulates to 46.530 €.
Aproximately 1.000 € above the Hyundai Kona with the same extras.
We left the sliding roof out that the e-Niro has.
The roof railing of the Hyundai Kona is standard equipment and is allowed to hold 80 kg (176 pounds).
The e-Niro has is as standard equipment starting from the middle level version and allows 100 kg (220 pounds).
There are several differences with regards to the light.
The Kona has the daytime running light above the headlights.
The e-Niro has it below the headlights.
The Kona has a turning light.
The e-Niro does not have a turning light
But the e-Niro has fog lights, the Kona has not.
Both cars are chargend from the front.
The charge port opens when you press it.
the Kona has the status indicator here.
the e-Niro has it on the dashboard, just like Nissan, Hyundai Ioniq.
the Kona has another indicated flap on the other side
but without function - just for the symetry of the front.
the e-Niro is missing this detail.
Let's take a look at the charging cable set for Germany.
The Hyundai comes with a Typ2 spiral cable.
it is handy, light and easy to operate.
But: it has a 20 Ampere coding
That means the car can only charge with 4.6 kW, at some stations only with 3.7 kW.
The e-Niro comes without a Typ 2 charging cable
We have chosen a one phase, 32 Ampere cable for this car.
The trunk volume is different.
The Hyundai Kona has 332 litres.
The e-Niro comes with impressive 451 litres.
We have a double-double floor in both cars.
The parcel shelf of the e-Niro is a roller.
The Kona has a fixed hat rack that closes automatically.
The Kona has a flat loading edge at 69 cm height (27 inches).
The e-Niro has it at 74 cm (29 inches).
We have a smal edge of 4 cm (1.6 inches)
The deph of the Kona trunk is 70 cm (27.5 inches).
The deph of the e-Niro trunk is 77 cm (30.3 inches).
The maximum length in the Kona is 178 cm (70 inches) - but tall people could not sit on the driver seat.
The maximum length in the e-Niro 191 cm (75 inches).
The position of the rear camera is also different.
The e-Niro has it integrated in the wiper.
so it potentially stays relatively clean.
The Hyundai Kona has it - as most other cars - above the license plate.
Space on the rear bench is always a subjective thing, depending on the driver.
Benny, how tall are you?
1,75 m (69 inches). I measure the space behind him.
66 cm (26 inches) is the length.
And I am testing the seating space now.
I can not fully stretch the knees.
You see it immediately: much more space in the e-Niro.
Behind Benny we have almost 78 cm (30 inches).
I test it.
Yes there is enough space.
Here is where you find the extra length of the e-Niro.
Let's take a look inside
We are starting with settings of the seats.
The Kona has an electric front passenger seat.
The e-Niro has a manually adjustable front passenger seat.
But the e-Niro has a memory function for the driver seat with two settings.
The Kona does not have it.
As compensation the Kona offers a nice button that sais HUD.
head up display- and there it comes out .
The e-Niro does not have it.
The Kona has a display for the infotainment that is elevated.
the display of the e-Niro is integrated in the dashboard.
Navigation is standard in the Kona in all versions.
For the e-Niro it is not included in the basis model.
Remarkable at the Kona is this cockpit style, or one could also say massive center console.
The buttons are almost identical in both cars.
The difference is that in the Kona the buttons for seat & steering wheel heating, auto hold, drive mode
are placed relatively far back.
Another difference is the gear selector switch
the Kona has buttons, while the e-Niro has a rotary wheel.
The e-Niro has seat heating and cooling for the front seat in the fullly equiped version.
and steering wheel heating.
The seat heating and cooling has three levels.
The good thing about the Kona is that you have the seating and steering wheel heating already in the Trend edition.
When the e-Niro doors are open you see immediately the rear heating with two levels.
The Kona does not offer heating on the rear bench.
The e-Niro has adjustable ventilation on for the rear bench.
This is missing in the Kona.
Both cars have ventilation below the seats.
The e-Niro has a household electricity socket, with child protection.
It runs up to 200 Watt.
So what is the conclusion
The conclusion is: there is no conclusion!
We have tried as hard as we can to shed light on commonalities and differences
of these two exciting vehicles.
In the end everyone has to decide for himself what is better one.
If you want to try it out, come to nextmove at get the cars one after another.
the Kona is available in all our locations..
For the e-Niro you are invited to our Welcome Party on February 9
there is a video on our channel with all details.
We have right now 5 e-Niro in the fleet and hope for more deliveries during summer.
We see the e-Niro more as a family car with frequent passengers on the rear bench.
Also as a Taxi or Uber.
The Kona is design wise a bit more dynamic and stylish.
And if you usually drive alone or one more passenger than the Kona is maybe your better choice.

Hyundai Tucson 2019 - test i recenzja - Jest Pięknie za kierownicą [ENG SUBS] - Duration: 5:50.
In this episode: who holds my steering wheel, what's microhybrid and how do you actually pronounce Tucson. Here are 5 things you must know about it!
[long explanation about Tucson pronunciation in Polish, completely irrelevant in English]
Tucson seems pretty comfortable, but some genius decided electric seats with memory are an unnecessary option.
Why is that a bad idea? I'm talking about it in my video about car seats – link somewhere above me and in the description below.
But, space-wise, I'm happy. Finding correct seating position is not a problem.
But why oh why must I reset the seat each time I switch seats with Marek?
This is what electric memory seats are for.
As for the infotainment system, we only used it once as it wasn't too reliable. There's Android Auto so all I need is a display.
The boot is 459 litres and if not for Skoda Karoq, it would be really good. But you know, Skoda has the biggest boots.
To be honest, Hyundai could get inspired with Skoda's boots altogether, like its big shopping hooks, or floor-mounted separators.
And yes, this Tucson has electric tailgate, which is always a plus, but that's not all a person with shopping bags might want from a car.
It's not that Tucson is unpleasant to drive, but don't expect emotions. Safety systems are there – I really enjoyed active lane assist, as it corrects the route and beeps when I leave my lane.
This is all quite decent, but that's all. Then again, the only crossover I really enjoyed driving as MINI Countryman. Price-wise, they're similar, but MINI is smaller.
Both cars have something else in common – the doors don't cover the sills. In poor weather this means one of two things: strange contortions when getting in and out or dirty pants.
What's a microhybrid? Well, it's an auxiliary drive working together with normal engine.
It can't work on its own so you won't be able to drive a few kms using electricity.
So, what's it for? In Poland, it serves absolutely no purpose.
I'm sure some avid readers of car magazines will tell me the pre-lift version with the same engine was less fuel efficient, but this is because the AT had six gears and this one has eight.
More about the micro hybrid – its point of being is reducing the CO2 emissions below 150 gms/km. This in turn lowers car taxes, for example in UK.
Each year, one can save up to 250-300 pounds, so after 2-3 years what extra one paid for the car is returned.
Should incentives like this one be introduced in Poland, Tucson MHEV would make sense. And now it doesn't.

Gwangju City, Hyundai Motor sign joint venture deal Thursday - Duration: 2:31.
The so-called 'Gwangju job project' has finally been given the green light.
The joint venture between Hyundai Motor and the city government is looked to create jobs
and revitalize the region's economy.
Our Kim Hyesung starts us off.
The Gwangju city government and Hyundai Motor signed a joint venture deal Thursday, also
known as the 'Gwangju job project,' to build an auto plant in the country's urban center
of the southwest.
As the top two shareholders of the 629 million U.S. dollar project, the city government will
invest 53 million dollars, and Hyundai Motor 48 million.
Hyundai Motor will build mini-SUVs from the new plant starting in 2021, with an annual
production capacity of 100-thousand cars.
Plant employees will work 44 hours a week, and receive an annual salary of 35 million
Korean won or around 31-thousand U.S. dollars,... less than half the average wages earned by
Hyundai Motor's unionized workers.
The central and city government will provide benefits like public housing and healthcare.
The agreement comes after months of negotiations,... when Hyundai Motor first proposed the deal
last June.
According to the deal, collective wage bargaining will not take place until the cumulative output
of the new factory reaches 350-thousand cars.
But a provision was added... which states that details of the future wage negotiation
can be discussed between the management and the union... if a 'significant' event takes
place.
The project is expected to create around 10,000 jobs in Gwangju.
For Hyundai Motor, it will mark the first time in more than two decades that it's building
a plant in Korea,... as it has relocated the bulk of its manufacturing operations to countries
like China, citing high labor costs at home.
"The deal is significant as it's a public-private joint venture, aimed at boosting the local
economy amid struggling manufacturing sector and high unemployment.
But there are still uncertainties, as the agreement leaves the door for possible collective
wage bargaining that could push up wages and add uncertainties to car production."
At the same time, experts say the deal's focus is largely on the supply side.
They say for the joint venture to succeed in the long run,... it needs a detailed plan
to export the mini-SUVs that suit consumer's preferences... in the ever competitive global
auto market.
