Hello! Today's experiment will be presented by Dimitris, just like every experiment.

This is Bernhard Tollens, my dear viewer.

Unfortunately, he is not here for an interview due to technical reasons..

..but he is here for a very beautiful reaction.

Here he is, mister Tollens himself.

Solution of ammonia and silver nitrate..

..Tollens reagent in other words.

Tollens reagent is made by mixing silver nitrate AgNO3 solution..

..and ammonia NH3 solution.

Its preparation is made only in lab, because Tollens reagent has limited life duration.

From production to consumption.

Just like my mother's macaroni pie.

Tollens reagent is used to determine the presence of specific organic compounds.

If the organic compound reacts with Tollens, then black Silver Ag precipitate or mirror of Ag will be formed.

This means that the organic compound contains an aldehyde group.

This!

Which is known as CH=O.

On the other hand, there is Fehling reagent or "feliggio ygro" (in Greek).

I am curious to know who translated that way Fehling reagent in Greek.

Blue Fehling solution is prepared by mixing together copper II sulphate crystals CuSO4..

..and sodium hydroxide NaOH in water.

Fehling is also made only in lab for immediate use.

It also reacts with aldehydes and copper I oxide Cu2O brown-red precipitate is formed..

..as you can see, my dear viewer, because you are not blind.

Actually, you cannot see the brown-red precipitate Cu2O.

You are not blind.

No Cu2O precipitate is formed yet, we have to wait a little longer for the reaction to take place.

Later..

Wwwwwwwell, still no Cu2O..

..which means that Fotis instead of mixing Fehling with aldehyde solution..

..he mixed it with an other solution and this solution was solution of acetic acid CH3COOH.

But mistakes are made to teach us.

- What did you learn from your mistake, Fotis?

- That this is the reason for which the whole lab stinks. I used acetic acid instead of methanal.

- Yes, and?

- I guess you will not invite me for another experiment? I don't know.

- This is for sure.

- You also learnt that Fehling reagent does not react with carboxylic acids.

- Maybe Fehling reacts only with aldehydes.

- Anyway, that glass over there contains methanal HCH=O.

-But how will you be sure that the glass contains HCH=O, Fotis?

- Eeeeem, I don't know. Could I smell it?

- You should taste it! Aldehydes and especially methanal, are extremely carcinogenic.

- Then how will we know for sure that this glass contains methanal?

- I think I asked this question in the first place.

- Anyway, you will add Fehling in the glass and if there is a reaction, you will see brown-red precipitate Cu2O.

- So, this means that the glass contained methanal HCH=O.

- You took it from my mouth (Greek expression).

Here is brown-red precipitate Cu2O, my dear viewer!

Which proves that the glass actually contained methanal HCH=O.

..drank the remaining HCH=O or alternatively spilled it in their eyes..

..we may proceed to Tollens reaction.

Mixing Tollens reagent with HCH=O solution black Silver precipitate Ag is formed, as you can see.

Nothing interesting at all.

I think Fehling's precipitate was better, it was brown-red after all.

But, if the solutions' concentrations are very low..

..this reaction will form mirror of Ag.

The reaction's speed will be low..

..because of the low concentrations..

..and Ag will be slowly coated in the spherical flask's inner wall.

This is the equation of the reaction that takes place.

After some manual stirring..

..Ag finally created a thin layer on spherical flask's wall [half an hour later]..

..and now, Eleni and Fotis can admire the result and their faces in the mirror of Ag.

Fehling and Tollens reactions are a real pain in the ass school reactions.

We tried to show these reactions to you in a more pleasant way..

..so that you can see for yourself the brown-red precipitate Cu2O..

..and the mirror of Ag..

..that your school chemistry book says about.

Also, aren't these reactions a bit nicer now?

Of course not! They were like shit before, they are like shit now!

that is, about Dholera Special Investment Region

This is an Industrial City being built in Gujarat State

we will provide complete information about this city

My name is Ahaan, you are watching social life, lets begin

In 2007, in Gujarat Vibrant Summit Dholera City's Plan was proposed

and was launched in 2011

It is a part of 100B $ project DMIC

and is the largest city in DMIC

we have already made a detailed video on DMIC

You can watch it by clicking the card on the top right

This city is being built on 920 SqKM

with a develop-able area of 560 SqKm

Main objective of this city is to develop a world class infrastructure

and make this city a global manufacturing hub

Along with smart transportation systems, express ways,

International Airport, Metro Rail and seaport connectivity will be provided

A new body is made for this city's making

which is Dholera Industrial City Development Limited

AECOM - a US based firm is also a part of this city's planning

This city is located at 100 km distance from Ahmadabad

which will be connected by a 6 Lane Express way

and also an International airport will be built

which will be used by both the cities

as by 2025 Ahmadabad International Airport's Passenger capacity will get exceeded

as this is an industrial city

aviation, defense, MRO, Heavy Engg

and Electronics and Pharmaceutical Industries will be targeted

and to attract the investors, single window clearance is provided along with tax wafers

and smart infrastructure will be provided

the lands will be allotted via eland allotment system

1-100 hectare of land will be provided for small firms

and can be extended to 7520 hectares for large firms

the utility prices will be highly competitive

and well planned network system will be provided

and residential spaces will also be alloted

lets talk about the cost

the estimated cost is 12B dollars

and the govt has already allotted 600M dollars

Now lets the progress

This project got environmental clearance in 2014

but in 2015 farmers got against the Govt and filed a case

and in 2015 December the High Court Stalled the land acquisition

and now the construction is going on with the land government possess

that is 22.5 SqKM

and Trunk Infrastructure is being built on this land

Trunk infrastructure means, basic infrastructure such as

road network, water distribution, sewerage disposition and electrification

and the progress of this is

till Jan 2018 , 40% of work is finished.

and the govt is saying that this will be completed by 2019

but recently Gujarat's CM visited Dholera and stated that

that Dholera will be operational before 2019 Gujarat Vibrant Summit

Govt has planned to complete

phase 1 of acquired are by 2019

phase 1 of complete area by 2022

phase 2 by 2032

and the DHOLERA CITY by 2040

Industries will start their plants once the phase 1 has completed

and in between 2020 and 2022 Dholera will become completely operational

The work of International Airport can start by 2019

and its phase 1 can be operational by 2022

A 5000MW solar plant will also be built in Dholera

Alkesh Kumar Sharma has said this city has seen many struggles and will be helpful for new upcoming cities

A big advantage of this Industrial City is

MRO which was not available in India will be made available in Dholera City as soon as it becomes operational

along with this, the giant company of Europe AIRBUS

has also signed an MOU with DHOLERA

and will install a manufacturing plant once Dholera City is operational

There is another smart city being built in India

which can compete with India's biggest and smartest cities

world of narcissistic personality disorder.

Contrary to what we might wrongfully believe, narcissists are not in love with themselves.

According to the greek myth of Narcissus, we know this character fell in love with his

own reflection in the water.

This is an important distinction that people seem to misunderstand, leading to a common

misconception.

The metaphor of Narcissus' reflection in the water refers to people's availability to

validate him.

In other words, narcissists' identity is poorly delineated and their goals are exclusively

set with reference to the other people, with the intention of impressing them and getting

their approval.

Without it, well, a narcissist has a SERIOUS problem and there's no telling what would

happen.

Nevertheless, narcissists lack of empathy hinders their understanding of other people's

feelings, so their relationships will be marked by a profound superficiality.

In fact, for them, the other people are nothing more than objects which help them look good,

in order to win the approval they yearn for.

nature in which grandiosity and attention seeking are dominant features.

Here's a dictionary of terms that designed to support a better understanding of this

personality disorder:

The False Self is a defense mechanism, which consists in a deceitful but amazing story,

which a narcissist makes up and expects the people around him to believe, and even play

a role in it.

This process is needed in order to compensate for narcissist's inner emptiness and the lack

of an adequately delineated identity.

Thus, the narcissist becomes a sect leader who, supposedly, has supernatural powers and

always receives validation from those around him.

His False Self, just like a policeman, will take care that the rest of us recognize narcissist's

supposed merits and will react aggressively if this is not going to happen according to

narcissist's expectations.

The fear of intimacy is another definitory element of this personality disorder, which

a narcissist uses in order to prevent the nightmarish possibility that others might

realize who he really is, and, as a consequence, they might quit appreciating him according

to his expectations.

In the intimacy, the narcissist would remain just a simple human being and moreover, one

with a pretty consistent amount of flaws.

He can't risk something like that.

meaning of life and of course, comes from the people around him, that should adapt to

his needs.

In a rather desperate fashion, a narcissist takes care that everybody grants him the validation

he yearns for, just like a junkie.

Everything it's fine as long as he receives his precious dose of recognition but when

the validating behavior stops, a whole new story takes place: he turns into a vengeful

and merciless hero and he will make sure everyone gets "what they deserve" for telling him

"no".

The pathological narcissistic space refers to the group of people who gravitate around

the narcissist.

His fan base represents the objective proof of his personal grandiosity and there, the

narcissist has the role of the great spiritual leader, a guru enlightened by divine inspiration.

The group that forms his pathological space will share his beliefs and will grant him

at any time, the recognition he needs.

The grandiosity gap exists because between the false self and the reality there is this

huge and dangerous distance.

The greatest and constant fear of a narcissist is that, when he least expects, he will reveal

himself in a less than perfect light.

This will always keep him under pressure, complaining, threatening, insulting or preparing

for attentively mastered revenge.

Approach - avoidance cycle.

The cycle describes the evolution of a narcissist's relationships between idealization and deprecation.

His approaching is, at some point, followed by withdrawal because of his terrible fear

of coming across less than perfect.

Thus, his relationships become a torture, a long line of brutal experiments.

The narcissist is not the right choice for a relationship in which the emotional stability

is a major concern.

The magical thinking - refers to the the act of self deception and it is expressed through

a host of lies and wrong ideas about success and recognition which the narcissist is so

fond of.

He lives in an aristocratic world and he doesn't understand meritocracy.

In his little pink universe he deserves the best things as his birthright.

There's no place for responsibility here, for merit or talent, let alone effort.

Peter pan syndrome - The childlike demeanor represents one of the two masks a narcissist

wears out of fear of intimacy.

The other one is that of the sect lider which we previously mentioned.

Sometimes, due to his lack of confidence and because of his poor emotional skills, the

Narcissist has the possibility to revive his inner child and live his childhood again and

again.

Thus, he owns an excellent cover and he's able to avoid tough social roles which involve

responsibility and effort.

Narcissistic compulsion is a term which refers to the desperate efforts made by the narcissist

for the only reason of creating a solid impression around him, a legend, we might say, unfortunately

a fake one, most of the times.

Therefore, the narcissist is a people junky and he can be socially useful, through education

and the influence of a good social environment, but the key to understanding his goals might

surprise you: he just wants to get his daily dose of narcissistic supply.
