MEGHAN appeared to mirror Princess Diana as she played a mini football at the Polo - Duration: 2:34.Meghan appeared to mirror Princess Diana as she played a ball game while watching new
husband Prince Harry at the Polo.
Royal fans have drawn comparisons between the Duchess of Sussex, 36, throwing a mini
football and the Princess of Wales, who was 28 at the time, playing bowls during a trip
to Indonesia in 1989.
Side-by-side photographs show the striking resemblance between the two royal women, both
wearing flowing summer dresses.
Meghan looked relaxed as she joined husband Harry, 33, at the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot,
Berkshire, on Saturday - just a day before what would have been Diana's 57th birthday.
Eagle-eyed royal watchers were quick to remark on the similarity between Meghan and Diana
in two photographs.
One social media user commented 'Diana come back', while another added: 'Lovely pic.'
It comes after royal fans hailed Meghan's maternal instincts in a sweet photograph of
her with a little girl, understood to be Mark Dyer's daughter, Isabella.
In the picture, the Duchess is seen crouched down to put herself at the same height as
the youngster, holding her hands as she chatted to her.
The photograph has had thousands of likes since being shared on Instagram, with one
commenting: 'I love how she is always bending down to meet the child's eye level - says
a lot about her.'
'I love how she is with children,' another wrote.
'They'll [Meghan and Harry] make great parents.'
Meghan looked stylish in a checked shirt dress by Shoshanna, tan sandals and her favourite
panama hat, as she enjoyed a trip to the Polo on Saturday.
She was joined by friend Serena Williams and her internet tycoon husband Alexis Ohanian
as she watched Harry and Prince William play.
The Duchess also attended the Polo again on Sunday, on what would have been Diana's 57th
birthday.
She appeared to return to her style roots on her second outing in two days, dressing
casually in a white shirt and black jeans.
Both Meghan and the Duchess of Cambridge have made unannounced appearances at the Polo in
recent weeks, with Kate cheering William on in Gloucestershire last month.
A picture of Kate, 36, running to greet her husband drew comparisons with the moment the
late Princess Diana won a running race against other parents at Prince William's sports day
in June 1989.

Breaking News - Shootout mini-drama creates a theatre of screams - Duration: 7:37.The penalty kick was invented by a goalkeeper. He was an Irishman from Armagh called William McCrum who had a strong interest in the theatre
As Kasper Schmeichel, Danijel Subasic and Igor Akinfeev moved centre-stage on Sunday during the World Cup's first shootouts, the detail about McCrum's interest in amateur dramatics seemed as pertinent as his invention
The penalty, in particular the shootout, has been so often about the fall-guy — as Gareth Southgate knows all too well — that the goalkeeper's contribution can be quickly forgotten
Sunday's keepers — unfortunately for Spain's David de Gea, his role was as an extra — made themselves the principal actors in the shootout's all-or-nothing mini-drama
Schmeichel is 6ft 3in but he must have looked the size of Borussia Dortmund's Yellow Wall as he saved three penalties — one in extra time, two in the shootout
It was not his fault Denmark lost. Subasic is the same height but made himself bigger by — illegally — moving forward off his line before each penalty was struck
Subasic did this for all five Denmark penalties and saved three. Each was visible to the referee —and VAR — though not as blatant as Subasic's save from Sergio Ramos at Euro 2016
Then the Croat was advanced two yards as Ramos connected. Denmark, and the referee, should probably have been aware of that
It's an approach, a technique, that will surely be clamped down on, although that has been said for a few years
Jordan Pickford may still have time to use this method, should he be called on in a shootout
And, as intimidating as the situation is, the goalkeeper gets five chances to shape the destiny of a shootout, the player taking the penalty only gets one chance to do so
For all the glory this confers on keepers, for all the theatre, it is not the spirit of its origin
McCrum came up with the idea of the penalty kick to redress clear fouls. It was 1891 and professional football was in its infancy
Defenders were able to use any means to stop attacks — McCrum's idea was designed to end unfair practices such as handball on the line — which was legal if unsporting
What he did not know was that his invention would travel all the way from an Armagh field to the World Cup and along the way turn into a shootout incorporating the eerie term 'sudden death'
In the 1990 final between West Germany and Argentina, Andreas Brehme's penalty decided the match and the World Cup in favour of the West Germans
But it is an indication of the power of the shootout that just as many people recall Roberto Baggio's miss for Italy against Brazil in the World Cup final four years later
It left an image of Baggio so strong that he is still asked about it. The overwhelming nature of it is such that Baggio's two goals for Italy in the semi-final against Bulgaria are obscured
'I take that penalty with me always,' Baggio said four years ago, a mere 20 years after the kick itself
Southgate knows the feeling. After Euro 96 he made an advert about his miss and, funnily enough, Baggio did the same in Italy
Given that England have exited five other tournaments on penalties — 1990, 1998, 2004, 2006 and 2012 — Southgate has been turning over stone after stone in the quest for answers to the emasculating anxiety which grips Englishmen walking towards that spot
He will not wish to be reminded that England's first ever penalty – awarded in 1899 — was missed by Aston Villa's Jimmy Crabtree, but it's too late now
England's task is to end the sequence, and no wonder Southgate has the players practising the walk from the halfway line as well as kicks themselves
Research published on Sunday by a Norwegian sports psychologist revealed that English players have begun their run-up to penalty kicks faster than any other country's players, a detail that hints at best at discomfort and a desire to get it over with, and, at worst, panic
This is pressure. Harry Kane may have displayed supreme confidence in dispatching his two penalties against Panama, but then 85 per cent of penalties in normal matches are converted
In penalty shootouts the figure drops to 76 per cent. When a player has to score to keep his team in a competition it falls to 60 per cent
Baggio's was one of the 40 per cent that are missed. It is a moment sport morphs into theatre, but whether it is a fair way to separate two drawn teams is another matter
Like keeper or kicker, William McCrum might not know which way to go on the issue
