Hello, I'm going to tell you about the versatile interior of the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV.
Its increased functionality is unrivalled in the large seven-seater SUV segment, and provides an extended range of action.
Where our major competitors offer a sliding, split bench in the second row,
we offer three individual, folding seats in this position.
There are so many advantages to this flexible design, distilled from the segment's best examples of use of space.
With three individual seats in the second row, all of the same width, we offer the same level of comfort for each passenger.
Each seat slides over a 15 cm range, like so, and is very easy to move. The living space in the second row is certainly very generous,
with the wheelbase now 11 cm longer than on the previous generation of the 5008,
and over 6 cm more leg room on average.
Every seat back now has five incline positions, compared to two on the previous generation of the 5008.
They are inclined by simply operating the lever on the side of the outer seats,
or by pulling the strap on the right of the centre seat.
Each seat has an Isofix attachment, identified by two slots at the base of the seat back, with a third "top tether" fixing point
on the back of each seat.
Each seat also has a curved headrest that can be folded down when the seat is not in use, to free up the rear view from the front row.
The folding mechanism for each seat is very easy to use,
leaving a perfectly flat loading surface.
Each seat can be folded down in an instant using the lever on the side of the outer seats,
or the strap on the centre seat.
There is a rigid board attached by a magnet to the back of each seat. These can be used to create a loading surface that is a level
extension of the boot, and to prevent items from falling under the seat when it's folded down.
Each seat can also be folded down from the boot by pulling the red strap at the base of the seat.
These three individual seats in the second row open up a whole host of options for configuring the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV.
You can juggle with seating and boot space to your heart's content.
The PEUGEOT 5008 SUV also maximises comfort features.
It has underfloor storage in the second-row passenger footwells.
And also standard, the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV has roller sunblinds
for the second row, and airline-style tray tables on the backs of the front row seats.
Second-row passengers also get a control panel for regulating air flow from the air-conditioning, with four flow levels available.
This feature comes as standard in the seven-seat configuration, or with the panoramic opening sunroof option.
If you've chosen the Focal hi-fi option (available on GT), as in this example, there will only be one underfloor storage bin on the left side.
The PEUGEOT 5008 SUV also has a third row of folding, removable seats in the boot as standard
To make them easier to manipulate, the baggage cover must be removed first.
The seats can be set up independently, and very simply. You must first fold back the three-part hinged flap,
then pull on the black strap on the back of the seat.
It's just as easy to fold the seat down. You just pull on the red strap at the base of the seat back,
then fold the three-part hinged flap back over the seat.
The PEUGEOT 5008 SUV offers a further unrivalled functionality for this third row of seats.
They can be easily removed to adjust the loading volume at will.
This is done by folding back the three-part hinged flap, and pulling the yellow lever located on the right of the seat. It can then be lifted out
by simply raising the seat to 45°, holding it by its sides to lift it out,
then holding it by the handle to finish removing it from the boot.
As each seat only weighs around 11 kg, they are very easy to handle.
With the seat removed, you have about 39 dm3 of extra boot space.
There is a removable plastic stand attached with velcro to the seat housing. This should be used to support the flap in the middle of the boot.
It's very easy to replace the seat in its housing. You do this by holding it by its sides, and positioning the two pins located
towards the front of the seat on the axles in the dedicated housing in the boot, and finally folding the seat down to lock it.
The yellow lever on the right side then returns to its horizontal position.
You can then replace the baggage cover behind the third row using the housings set into the side trims in the boot.
The PEUGEOT 5008 SUV provides a record load volume in its category, with 780 dm3 for the five-seat configuration
and VDA standard, which is 260 dm3 more than the PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
This boot volume breaks down as follows: 702 dm3 above the floor, and 39 dm3 when each seat is removed from the boot.
To gain easy access to the third row, there is a control on the upper part of the backs of the outer second-row seats.
You simply operate the lever to lean the seat back forwards, then slide the seat itself.
You can then get in, and pull the second-row seat back into place to lock the bed plate in a position
that gives you sufficient leg room in the third row.
