Auto news on Youtube Dec 27 2018

Hey, whats up guys.

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.

And today, I'm here with the TruShield FullShade Top fitting your '97 to '06 Wrangler TJ.

Now, this is for the TJ owner looking for an easy way to protect themselves and the

interior of their jeep from the harsh rays of the sun.

Whether you're just cruising down that road or you're hitting those trails and looking

for some coverage and shade, you really can't go wrong with this top.

Now, this top is gonna provide protection for the front and the rear and it even has

interior zippered pockets allowing you to store those precious items.

Not only that, but this top is gonna fit underneath of your soft top and your hard top and it

can be stored anywhere in the jeep when you're not using it.

Now, this is made of durable woven PVC coated polyester and it even has a UV coating protecting

it from the sun's rays and fading.

Now, this is reasonably priced on the site at around $100 when compared to other options,

and it even comes with a great three-year warranty.

Now, as far as install goes, I am gonna give this a one out of three wrenches since you

can install this in about 15 minutes using the supplied bungees, and the best part is

there's no header channel required or drilling.

Now, with that being said, let's hop into the install.

So we're gonna begin our installation with our top off.

If you have a hard top, you're gonna want to remove it.

And if you have a soft top, you can just fold this back.

So, we are gonna take our sunshade and unravel this and you're gonna find a mini carabiner

in the front.

This is gonna hook on to the footman loop.

So we're gonna start with that at the front.

So we're gonna hook our mini carabiner into our footman loop on the front, making sure

that our zippered pockets face inside the jeep.

So we're gonna take our sunshade and we're gonna pull it over our soundbar and start

with our rear bungees.

So, you're gonna push the bungee through the hole and then we're just gonna go around and

attach that around that ball.

So we're just gonna do a couple of these on this side.

And then we'll get some done on the other side.

So, we're gonna do the same thing on the other side, starting with that rear bungee.

Now, we're gonna work our way up towards the front, just attaching the bungees as we go

along.

So, we're gonna do the same thing for the other side to get these bungees on.

One nice thing about this sunshade is that it actually has this built-in zippered pocket

up here.

Now, the whole thing is made of PVC coated polyester.

So, it's gonna be really durable and it's gonna handle the sun's rays.

This pocket is actually coated in polyurethane so it's gonna give you a waterproof area to

store stuff and also keep things out of your way.

So, let's get these last few bungees installed and then this will finish up the installation.

So that wraps up my review in install.

Euro NCAP: ONE Star For New Jeep Wrangler, ZERO For Fiat Panda - Duration: 3:12.

The famous 'death wobble' isn't the only major issue plaguing the new generation Jeep Wrangler, as the SUV isn't as safe as one would think

In fact, Euro NCAP tested it alongside other vehicles and gave it only 1 star. The rating was pulled down in the Safety Assist category, as the 2019 Jeep Wrangler lacks automatic emergency braking and lane assistance

"It is truly disappointing to see a brand new car being put on sale in 2018 with no autonomous braking system and no lane assistance", commented Euro NCAP's Secretary General, Michiel van Ratingen

"It is high time we saw a product from the Fiat-Chrysler Group offering safety to rival its competitors

" Jeep's all-new Wrangler didn't do so well in the Adult Occupant, Child Occupant and Pedestrian categories either, where it scored 50 percent, 69 percent and 49 percent, respectively

ZERO Stars for the Fiat Panda Strike two for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles came from the Fiat Panda in Euro NCAP's latest round of tests

The vehicle scored a disastrous 0 stars and was regarded as "a dubious distinction matched only by the Punto in 2017", stated European car safety specialists

Euro NCAP also crash-tested the Hyundai Santa Fe and found that there was an issue with the side curtain airbags, which could be torn during deployment in vehicles equipped with a panoramic roof

The Korean automaker is said to have come up with a fix, and early cars will be subjected to a recall to correct this problem

Meanwhile, the driver knee airbag is said not to have deployed correctly in the new BMW X5

The Munich-based auto firm's SUV thus follows in the footsteps of the 5-Series, which had a similar problem when tested last year, as the airbag provided "little additional protection to the driver's legs"

Audi, Jaguar, Peugeot and Volvo Have Set New Safety Standards Other vehicles tested by Euro NCAP were the Audi Q3, Jaguar I-Pace, Peugeot 508 and Volvo V60/S60

All of them were awarded five-star safety ratings, and were praised by Euro NCAP."To be fair, the Audi Q3, Jaguar I-Pace, Peugeot 508 and Volvo V60/S60 have set the standard against which others are judged this time, and other manufacturers could do well to follow their example", commented van Ratingen

"The I-Pace, especially, demonstrates that future vehicles will be good for the environment, but also provide high levels of safety

2020 Jeep Gladiator Won't Be Offered With The Turbo Four-Cylinder Because Of Heat / Towing Issues - Duration: 2:59.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator was one of the stars of the Los Angeles Auto Show, but it was curiously missing the Wrangler's optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Producing 270 hp (201 kW / 273 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, the engine slots above the Wrangler's entry-level 3.6-liter V6 which develops 285 hp (212 kW / 289 PS) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque

While the turbocharged engine is slightly down on horsepower, it has more torque which would prove useful in a pickup

Of course, the four-cylinder's biggest advantage is its eTorque system. It features regenerative braking, electric power assist and an engine start / stop system

This setup significantly improves fuel efficiency as the Wrangler with the 3.6-liter V6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission is rated at 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined

With the four-cylinder, those numbers climb to 23 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined

That's a noticeable improvement and The Drive reached out to Jeep to ask why the engine isn't offered on the Gladiator

Their response wasn't very detailed, but the company said "The 3.6-liter engine can handle the temperatures seen while towing

"This seems to suggest the four-cylinder engine was nixed for temperature management issues and a potentially low towing capacity

The latter was hugely important for Jeep as the Gladiator is their first pickup in decades and the company obviously wanted to claim a best-in-class towing capacity

The brand was able to achieve that as the truck can tow up to 7,650 lbs (3,470 kg) when properly equipped

While the Gladiator won't be offered with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the company has already announced a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be available in 2020.

It will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and produce 260 hp (193 kW / 263 PS) and 442 lb-ft (598 Nm) of torque
