Arion: A smart insole that wants to make you a better runner - Techno Polish - Duration: 2:52.

In the running wearable wars, the battle for our wrists has been raging non-stop for years.

The fight for our feet, however, has been more about the odd sporadic skirmish.

We've had chips in shoes from Nike and Under Armour, startups like Sensoria have given

us smart socks but no one has yet convinced us that smart footwear can really change our

running.

That might be about to change.

Arion running is part of a new wave of smart insoles and footpods – including brands

such as Stryd and RunVi – that pair biomechanics sensors on our feet with real-time intelligent

coaching, to help us run more efficiently, avoid injury and ultimately bag more personal

bests.

Arion describes itself as a "next-generation wearable that helps runners improve their

technique to run faster, longer and safer" and its sensor-laden smart soles track a huge

range of running dynamics – the stats that reveal how efficiently we run.

It builds up a detailed picture of your running technique and then converts that data, via

a smartphone app, into a programme of real-time coached running sessions designed to help

optimise your running performance, minimise your risk of injury and increase your overall

efficiency.

On an example test run we compared Arion to Lumo Run (belt worn), Stryd (foot pod) and

Garmin's Running Dynamics pod.

Arion clocked cadence much lower than all three.

Gamin had our average at 176 SPM, Lumo at 183 SPM and Stryd at 179.6 SPM.

The GPS stats all came up fairly close with Arion coming in slightly longer than the others

at 6.13 miles, Lumo 6.04 miles and Garmin 6.01 miles, Stryd at 6.02 miles.

When it comes to foot strike and balance we had some question marks over the accuracy

of Arion's readings too.

Though none of the other devices track these, the lovely animations seemed to disagree with

the other report Arion stats.

The animations appeared at least to suggest we spent more time mid-forefoot striking whereas

the metric readings said we had mainly been heel striking.

Our balance – an indication of how symmetrically you run – was 0.0% which suggest we ran

a perfectly balanced run.

Again from past tests we'd suggest this is highly unlikely.

GOOGLE Home has received a huge new update that will make the smart speaker even smarter

thanks to some new useful functionality.

Google Home is an incredibly useful piece of hardware that allows users to control connected

aspects of their home with their voice.

However, one of the device's most useful features is its ability to create routines.

This allows lights to be turned on or off, or home temperatures to be adjusted with a

command.

The tech giant initially split routines into six categories: good morning, bedtime, leaving

home, I'm home, commuting to work and commuting home.

Google Home's handy functionality meant owners could choose to turn their phone off silent

as soon as they woke up or even adjust its volume.

The tech giant also allowed for custom routines to be created and for several wishes to be

granted at once with one voice command.

But now Google has given smart speaker lovers the ability to schedule routines for specific

times, greatly increasing the usefulness of the device when users are not able to give

a direct voice command.

The new functionality means Google Home could turn off lights in your home, assuming they

are compatible with the smart speaker, after you have gone to bed.

Droid Life said it spotted Home owners discussing the silently-released new feature on Reddit.

It then tested the feature for itself and noticed it was able to choose and time and

day for specific routines.

Users can make use of the new feature by going into the settings menu on the Google Home

app and pressing the "+" button.

This will create a new routine and take you to a menu featuring an option to "choose a

time for this routine".

This allows the user to put in the command they want to trigger the routine or the time

and days it should occur on.

After Google Home completes a routine it will let the user know by pushing a notification

to their phone.

Unfortunately, the tech giant's smart speaker is only available to offer routine functions

in the US.

BMW Korea and its official dealer Deutsche Motors are facing a lawsuit here in Korea

following a series of engine fires.

Choi Si-young has this report.

BMW Korea has recalled more than 100-thousand vehicles of 42 different models over a faulty

component prone to cause a fire.

A group of Korean consumers filed a complaint at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors'

Office against BMW Korea and its official dealership Deutsche Motors.

They said in a petition that the recall doesn't address the fire risk because

the carmaker promises to replace the faulty part only if they are found to be defective.

They also expressed worries over a potential delay in the process of recalling more than

100-thousand cars.

They are seeking around 45-hundred U.S. dollars each,... and could ask for more in damages

in the litigation process.

"Many people are asking me about the lawsuit.

I plan to continue filing a complaint week after week.

It is likely that a year will pass by until the first ruling comes out."

"Shortly after the complaint was filed against BMW, more than a thousand people joined an

online cafe to prepare for a lawsuit against the German carmaker, and that number is still

growing."

The fire-prone faulty component called 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation' is also equipped in vehicles

sold in other countries.

However, according to BMW Korea, Korea registered the highest number of faulty cars, probably

due to the abnormal weather conditions these days.

But experts differ.

"In automobile manufacturing, hardware like an EGR component goes with software that sends

commands.

This software is designed differently by region and country.

The software may be the error in this case."

When asked for comment on the expert's view, BMW Korea said the software is the same as

the European ones, and that there is no software malfunction.

BMW M4 GTS vs M5 E60 | Is It Worth $137,000? - Duration: 11:31.

Welcome back everyone mark with exotic car play place today we're going to talk

about the e60 m5 versus the m4 GTS which is that super rare ultra high

performance m4 that's dialed in for the track we're gonna talk about the

features specific compare one to the other now I've had the m5 here for quite

a while and I'm always looking for the next great thing and I would say the m4

GTS is the most hardcore BMW in the lineup today yeah there's the i8 that's

kind of a different animal but we'll talk about conventional sports cars by

BMW today we're gonna just preview some of the specs and some of the details but

before we get started don't forget to make sure you check out my merchandise

on the channel there's a hot link for that as well in the giveaway four

cameras no let's just do a quick look at the entire car and oh and we'll explain

it we'll make some comparisons now let's just start with the overall look of the

car the overall look on the e60 of course is the bengal era the bangl era

was crisp angle design where he created these sort of wraparound headlights the

taillights are unique and if you look at the spoiler on the m4 GTS it's very

aggressive then we come on over to the wheels

we have a standard 19-inch wheel on the m5 here and if you really look down

closely here you'll see we have steel brakes cross drilled ventilated disc

brakes on these cars not such as the case on the m4 on the m4

whose is carbon ceramic brakes then of course you have some of the telltale

symbols m5 you've got your traditional vent system here you've got the telltale

m5 and on the m4 you have its own style then we look at things like mirrors

definitely a simpler mirror setup here the m4 is a much nicer mirror it's more

than modern look now of course looking at the the entire rest of the bodywork

fairly traditional in this car but when you compare it to when we work our way

around to the back you'll notice the e60 here we have a little fin here

but that little Finn doesn't exist on the m4 GTS instead it has an oversized

carbon wing and then moving right along you'll notice as well on the e60 m5

we've got the quad exhaust tips here which you also have on the m4 GTS you

also have the quad exhaust tips there as well slightly different layout now

moving right along looking in the backseat of the e60 m5 now looking

through here of course this is an m5 they don't call it the ring taxi for

nothing the barn burner whatever you want to call it we have box seats here

not only do we have two seats we actually have three seeds if you look

here there's seating for three in the back as well as the two in the front

such is not the case in the m4 GTS where in that case the entire back area is

been stripped gutted and replaced with an aggressive racing roll cage and so

then we move more to the interior looking at the interior door panels for

example in this car typical for m5 and a lot of other BMWs of course you have a

well finished interior door panel very nice we've got leather touchier leather

in this case because I don't have the extended leather we only have the

plastic top finished off nicely with the brushed aluminum well when we look at

the m4 GTS it doesn't have any of that it actually has a single little door

pull and a slight little pad on the door which allows you a space to rest your

elbow not much more than that it's a very simple rig in the m4 GTS because

really the m4 GTS is about business racing business that's what that's about

ok so now we sit inside we look at the rest of the interior of

this car you'll notice in this car there's still a lot of plastic plastic

plastic plastic lots of plastic here this is not the extended leather as I

mentioned now in the m4 GTS they have actually a stepped-up level of trim on

the entire interior of the car as well you have a beautiful logo on the dash on

the m4 GTS that shows that that car means business and that is a special

engraved not faked well oh I know a BMW is traditionally known for stepping up

and badging non-m cars well that is a unique feature of the m4 GTS is they

have that nice little GTS logo on the dashboard here now let's go on the

inside here on the e60 m5 you actually have a very nice interior you have a

heads-up display here and you can tell the panel here this panel reflects the

heads-up display which gives you a lot of different features for sure

tachometer gives you your speed your rev count all that stuff it also sometimes

can give you some other details depending on how you configure it in

your I Drive system or M Drive but the m4 GTS also has the heads-up display as

well if you look at the overall interior here and the steering wheel this is

pretty traditional BMW product you have a leather steering wheel you've got the

paddle controls here but if you look at the m4 it has a much nicer Alcantara

steering wheel much fat are much more padded and and of course it has the dual

clutch transmission shift paddles which of course are vastly improved because a

dual clutch transmission is vastly better than the single automated manual

that you had in the e60 so there's some improvements there and that's more

justification for buying the m4 GTS now let's pop the hood let's look at where

the real magic happens

close the door here we're gonna check under the hood here pop it up now this

is the magic of the e60 m5 you have the infamous

s85 engine which essentially is the heart of this car this is the heart the

soul the f1 drivetrain in powering this car the m4 GTS on the other hand has a

much more aggressively tuned twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that produces almost

500 horsepower way up from the standard 425 some odd horsepower that you find in

a standard m4 the m4 GTS has a lot more gem but not only that it has more torque

as well and it's just a finely tuned engine now some other things that you

want to take a look at here I'd like to make comparisons because the m4 GTS is a

very very cool car lots of trick features we have carbon fiber throughout

carbon fiber on the bottom carbon fiber on the wing carbon fiber parts on the

interior but it also has a carbon fiber hood now if you look up here you've got

your standard metal hood here pretty standard for most cars as well you've

got your heat shield and that's basically all metal pretty traditional

finishing well the m4 GTS has none of that the m4 actually has an entirely

complete carbon fiber hood that weighs almost nothing extremely light weight

then one more quick thing I want to show you on the exterior this car now we all

know that the m6 of this generation is 63 so the m6 had a carbon fiber roof

available as did some of the e90 and 92 BMWs had this available as carbon fiber

the m5 did not have that that was not available and so instead you have a

sunroof here and a standard metal roof where the m4 GTS has a wonderful

wonderful nicely finished high-gloss carbon-fiber roof on

there which thus results in a lower center of gravity reduced overall weight

and improved performance for the truck environment now to other trick things I

want to mention from the e60 and the m4 the one downside to the m4 is everybody

knows it is a track oriented car it's trying to compete with the likes of the

gt3 911 GTR Corvette with the modern dry sump systems it's trying to compete in

that marketplace unfortunately BMW looks like they have

elected to provide an integrated sump system so it's not a true dry sump that

you would find in like I said a gt3 for example that has a separate oil tank

that provides much better oiling under aggressive cornering situations the m4

does not have that they use some sort of baffling and whatnot but essentially

it's an integrated dry sump very much like what you would kind of find in the

SAT 5 engine in the e60 m5 so there's one other trick thing that the m4 GTS

has going for it is you don't have it in this car you don't have it in most cars

today because it's it's a bit more maintenance intensive if you will but

the m4 GTS has a little trick up its sleeve and its water injection because

of the high boost levels or the elevated heat that you find in the engine

compartment due to the intercooling the high turbo pressures the higher pressure

and overall higher performing levels of that engine produces a lot of heat up to

220 degrees in some parts of the intake manifold and such what it actually does

is it utilizes a water injection system that actually helps reduce detonation

and actually dramatically improve intake cooling if you were to actually improve

reliability for long hard driving for example in a track environment so that

is another trick you don't have that an e 60 here you don't have it in the F 90

or the F 10 you don't have it in any of the other m3 or m4 s you know what

is a specifically trick for that particular car the m4 GTS so guys

everybody I hope you enjoyed that really what I'm trying to get out here is I

love my car infinitely but I'm always looking at the

next great thing from BMW because I'm always possibly looking at my next toy

this could very well be the car it has so many great features to it it's just

you know it's certainly not a daily driver it is definitely a toy

and I'm looking at it because I like the extreme I like the cars that are dialed

in for the track do I always drive on the track oh no but I love that feel of

what's that old saying you don't start nothing won't be nothing actually just

kind of like a car if it doesn't start you're gonna be late to work so you

probably won't be nothing because you can get paid that week right hey you see

that would scare it here with FCP euro and we're gonna do a really quick

product review all right so we talking about our n 52 and 54 starter motor kit

this is actually pretty relevant on the N 52 and 54 engine up to three of 2011

this starter in particular really likes to start problems by not starting your

motor these things fail religiously the volume that move out of this warehouse

indicates how much of a problem is is on these engines and your primary reasons

for that is your starter motor bolts right so these are one-time use one of

the biggest problems that happens on these they are aluminum bolts torque

that you can't build up a little bit of corrosion which creates resistance and

being that these bolts act as the grounding point for the starter motor

resistance increasing in these bolts can actually cause the starter motor to burn

out so it's really critical that you replace these bolts with brand new ones

every single time and in particular one with your oay bolts they have some

aftermarket ones out there that are coated that will actually just prevent

your starter motor from being able to start or just burn the starter motor out

just like a corroded only bolt would do in this kit we also include a intake

manifold gasket set why are you asking unless you're mr. incredible from the

Fantastic Four there's absolutely no way that you're removing this starter motor

you'd have to be a contortionist to even get this out without removing the intake

manifold so we've gone ahead and included the intake manifold gasket set

so it comes with a brand new starter motor no cord charge they don't don't

worry about repackaging this to run it back to us comes everything you need to

do the starter motor on your n52 or m54 powered vehicle and this is just been

New Suzuki Swift Sport 2018: It's a FUN Hot-Hatch! [Sub ENG] - Duration: 9:46.

Ciao everyone, here it's Marchettino and today we test a japanese hot-hatch, much sober but also very spicy,

let's test the new Suzuki Swift Sport!

You know I'm a big fan of hot-hatches and today I'm excited to drive the new Suzuki Swift Sport

and as first driving impressions I have to tell you it's good fun to drive, as you can see we're around winding roads and trust me I had good fun this morning!

The Suzuki Swift Sport is a car that costs 21.000€ and at this price you get a full optioned car, basically you don't have to spend more on it and for this money

you get a hot-hatch that has lots of features like a multimedia system with Apple carplay, sat-nav, rear camera,

not to mention the rear seats, here we have 4 genuine seats and a truly sporty look.

Well, the colour, needless to say I'm Mr.Soberty, I like it!

It's very endearing and pretty to look at, well maybe if you define it pretty you're a ricer like me but I think it's pretty!

In front we find a tiny a 1.4L turbo, for the first time the Swift Sports gets turbo and the power is 140hp and 230nm of torque.

Trust me, this is enough to make you smile around these corners!

One thing I like very much from this engine is that turbo lag is minimal, turbo is tiny but what I like is that 90% of the power is already available at 2500rpm!

This is a tiny and agile car, agile also because it's hard to believe but given the size and 4 seats, this car weighs just 975kg!

Just to make a comparison, my Abarth 500 which is tiny, there's less space inside, the engine is big the same.. it weighs 125kg more which is not a little, trust me!

Around these corners I like to push this tiny engine and move with extreme agility!

Out the corners the front tires slide a bit, these tires struggle to unleash all the power out the corners!

I told you, it's a tiny and enraged engine, I like this kind of tiny and pumped up cars very much because they offer much sensations!

Another I thing I like but I don't get, is the decision of Suzuki that decided to make available the Swift Sport only with a manual transmission for the italian market.

This transmission is not bad, here we have a 6-speed, maybe the gear stick is a bit long but gear changes are precise.

Also thanks to these pedals that are close enough each other you can play with quick gear changes and heel-toe.

By pushing the engine, maybe

what happened? - You must've pushed the cruise control! - Ok!

In this car there's so many features I touched a button by mistake and nope, I don't want the cruise control!

For 21.000€ you get also features like the adaptive cruise control, the car accelerates and brakes depending on the speed you choose,

the system that allows to keep the lane without the hands on the steering wheel, which I don't recommend you! - In fact it disengages itself after a while! - Ok it disengages!

And I was saying.. I don't remember what I was saying!

Anyway, let's move on!

Another positive side of this Swift Sport are the brakes because

they're very reactive and the car being so light the breaking spaces are short and even by slamming the foot on the brakes

the car is very stable and balanced, I can only dream of a breaking like this on my Abarth 500!

By pushing this tiny engine now I remember what I wanted to say earlier,

maybe something that Suzuki should have focused more is on the engine sound because

it's not the sound of a sports car, it doesn't engage and pushes you to redline the engine, this is a citycar sound and sadly

an option sport exhaust is not even available so you buy the car and you gotta keep it like this, or perhaps you go for an aftermarket exhaust.

But yeah let's say for being a fun sports car to drive, the fact it doesn't have an engaging sound, this is a let down.

The suspensions are not bad, I find them balanced, not too stiff for a daily driving and for a sports driving I find it pleasant because I can feel very good the road without

being too stiff to make me regret to have bought a sports car to daily use.

The seats are very comfy but maybe not enveloping enough, I'm not fat but while moving around these corners I feel they don't hold me perfectly.

if they were more enveloping, they would have been perfect.

Overal it's a very fun car to push, especially around roads like these!

I like this car very much, I like the ricey colour too, if we get closer we may look that many plastic parts have a carbon fibre look,

you may like it or not, personally I'm not a fan of fake carbon fibre but this effect make the Swift very sporty, we may see it

also here on the rear bumper, here the two exhaust tips that don't make any noise, what a pity!

With an in depth look at the interior I think it's very pretty, very young style!

Nicely done also for its price range, I like the display here on the dash, manual gearbox here.

Here we may see also the plastic with a red accent that fades and make the interior even more sporty,

Another interesting feature is this small display that allows to see many informations, by pressing the Info button

we may see lots of parameters such as

the pressure on the throttle and brake pedals,

here we see like how much throttle and brakes we're using,

how much boost we're using and also very useful, the temperature of the engine oil.

Features that are missing on my Abarth! Here we have the consumption

that maybe it's better not to look because if you push this tiny engine trust me that

it's easy to make 3-4km per litre!

So this is it, the new Suzuki Swift, very eye-catching, fun and engaging, I liked very much to spend a day with this little japanese box
