Considering Nissan Murano?

Compare it with the 2018 Ford Edge Sport, you may be surprised.

For starters, Edge Sport makes parallel parking easy.

Just push a button, follow a few prompts, and watch it steer into a space.

It also works great for perpendicular parking.

[MUSIC]

Murano doesn't have this.

Edge Sport also has more room than Murano for whatever you're bringing.

And it also received the government's highest five star crash test rating.

And there's this,

over 97% of all Ford Edges sold over the last ten years are still on the road.

Advantages that count, just another reason why Ford is America's best-selling brand.

So Elizabeth, I understand you've been

such a tremendous advocate for other victims,

and you recently met with the USA gymnasts,

who were victims of the team physician Dr. Larry Nasser.

What did you say to them?

They were such incredible women.

Listening to them talk about their story

and what they went through,

I just feel like they've set the standard

for what victims can look to,

I mean for how powerful we really are.

And when we come together,

there isn't anything that we can't overcome,

I mean they just, were so amazing.

And it also made me think a lot about

what are we teaching our children today?

We talk a lot about fire safety.

We talk a lot about like, earthquake safety,

we talk a lot about safety.

But in my entire education in the school system,

I don't ever remember anyone talking to me about like,

sexual violence safety, and I could be wrong,

but I'm willing to make a bet there are probably

a lot more victims of sexual violence

than there are like, burn victims.

Stop, drop, and roll is great,

but I don't think that's going to protect you

from someone trying to rape you.

And we should be addressing that.

Hopefully we see changes in the school setting

and other places, because I mean,

there's a lot more of it going on.

Obviously that's coming out now with the #MeToo movement.

How do you feel about that?

I think the #MeToo movement has been long overdue.

Definitely.

(applause)

As a survivor, and as I've gone out

and met with other survivors,

I can't even tell you how many times when I've presented

and I've spoken about these topics

and these issues that afterwards I have.

Women, and not just women,

but men too coming up to me and saying,

"I've never told anyone this. Because you spoke out,

I feel like I can now speak out."

And so I feel like, the #MeToo movement

is doing that on such a larger scale.

I mean, people who have never spoken out

about what's happened to them

are feeling this comorbidity

and that they can share what's happened to them too,

and I think that's so needed,

because this isn't a topic that you can just hide away

or think once it's done and over with

it's really done and over with, because it's not.

I think it haunts people through their lives.

Exactly.

If you internalize all of this, there will be no resolution.

You're going to deal with this internal struggle

the rest of your life.

Absolutely, and Elizabeth,

I want to follow up on that and ask you about coping.

Because when you continue to heal,

you can still sometimes experience flashbacks,

symptoms from the past, how have you dealt with those,

and how have you moved forward when that happens to you?

So there are definitely times when like,

I'll see a picture of someone,

or someone will do something and I'll be like,

"whoa, that's a little bit freaky."

But for me, I always just have to remind myself

where I am in life right now.

I'm like okay, like yes,

I acknowledge that this does remind me

of Brian David Mitchell, Wanda Barzee, or being chained up.

It does remind me of that, but I'm not chained up anymore.

I'm not with them anymore.

So I understand now, you're a mom, you're married,

so how does this influence you as a mother and a wife?

It scares me because I think the worst thing in the world

would be to have something happen to my children.

And so part of me wants to just wrap them in bubble wrap,

and move out to the middle of nowhere, and build a compound,

and never let anyone in or let them out.

But I always have to remind myself.

That's not doing them any favors.

One day, they will leave home.

One day I will have to let them go

and experience life on their own terms,

and so really, the best thing I can do is to educate them,

is to prepare them and, I mean right now they're young.

My daughter is only three, and my son's ten months, so.

So I'm not having to have like,

huge heavy conversations with them, but even my daughter,

she's three years old, I mean I talk to her already.

There's three things I want her to know every day.

That she's loved unconditionally.

That no one has the right to scare her, hurt her.

And if anyone ever does,

which is maybe my most important point,

is that she needs to tell me.

So when I talk to her, her name's Chloe.

We call her Coco.

And I say, "Okay Coco, you tell me.

You tell me if anyone hurts you, or like scares you."

And these days she's like, "Daddy said no more juice."

Or like, "He took my goldfish away."

It's silly now, but I'm happy she tells me that now,

because maybe as she grows,

she'll continue to tell me those things that scare her,

or worry her, or make her upset.

Elizabeth, I have a favor to ask of you.

Yeah.

And that is to continue writing books,

continue to tell your story,

because I could not be more impressed with you.

You are just such a wonderful spokesperson for perseverance.

So I am proud of you.

Keep doing what you're doing.

And everyone in the audience is very lucky today,

because you're going home

with a copy of Elizabeth's new book

Where There's Hope.

Healing, Moving Forward, and Never Giving Up.

Why Logan Paul Is Smart To End His Daily Vlog | What's Trending Now! - Duration: 4:28.

Logan Paul told his fans this weekend that he's done making daily vlogs and

"wants to express his creativity in other ways." Welcome back to What's Trending, I'm

Kale Hill. Subscribe for more trending and social media news every day. In the

17 minute video "The End of Logan Paul Vlogs" you kind of have to sit through a

lot to get to why he's ending his daily vlogs. He gets into a fight with Evan, he

goes to pick up his modified Mercedes G wagon (aka the Yeti) and he makes sure to

leave a few seconds to praise himself and all his success. From the first pop-up shop we had in New York

City to shutting down the Dubai Mall...

I could literally go on. But eventually he does get there and he's

ending the vlog because he wants to do other stuff. Your boy wants to exercise his

creativity in different ways. You guys know we have a talk show coming soon,

it's called "Impulsive," we just built the studio in my house. It's sick. That's

gonna be a vlog for next week. Gotta make these hits, bro. I want to dive into

music .I want to start new business endeavors and you guys know we got the

KSI coming up so not only that but I'm training as well. He also says that

YouTube was just his hobby and not his career. YouTube is not my career, this is

a hobby. I hopped on this platform like two years ago. I've been making YouTube

videos since I was like 10. I have diversified, bro. I got my tentacles spread out in a lot

of industries. Third of all, bro. If anyone's gonna end my career, okay it's

gonna be me. Hey, I would love to get paid 12.5 million dollars a year for my hobby -

Watching Netflix. I'd settle for 12.5 dollars, just dollars. I mean, most people

pay to do their hobbies so any way you cut it Logan Paul is doing pretty good.

It is true though that he has a lot of stuff in the pipeline. The sequel to his

YouTube Red film "The Thinning," he's doing podcasts and new music, plus his

long scheduled fight with British YouTuber KSI. Oh, and we get new music?

Awesome! Now we might finally get to hear "Stank Dick," a song he performed live only

a few times in LA in 2015, but if we're being serious

every real member of the Logang already has their own bootleg copy of

"Stank Dick." In fact, most fans are sure that a studio version of "Stank Dick"

would never hold a candle to the live version recorded at Budokan.

At any rate, all those plans might finally provide some answers to the

frequently googled question: "What does Logan Paul do for a living?" What this

move doesn't seem related to is his multiple scandals over the last six

months, including a video where he filmed a hanging body in Japan's "Suicide Forest,"

or a little while later when he tased a dead rat at his home. What it might be

related to is his inability to earn money through YouTube anymore. The

platform suspended monetization on his videos after he encouraged his fans to

eat Tide Pods, but to be fair, most of lLgan Paul's fans didn't really care

about that stuff anyway. His channel actually became even more popular after

the controversy. The issue for Logan is how can he take his rabid fan base of

literally tens of millions of young fans and turn it into a profitable,

sustainable enterprise. I mean, it's probably a good idea in the long run. If

spending half of his day making content for YouTube isn't going to earn him

money any more than why do it? Especially if he's earning enough revenue from

merch and all his other platforms to maintain his fan base. Let's take a look

at some comments from some Logan Paul fans and some haters. @Logxngsta:

"Despite him quitting the daily vlogs for his other projects, u can't deny the

resilience Logan Paul has shown this year with everything that was thrown at

him. That has my respect." BBC reporter Zoe Kleinman said: "I realize I'm not the

target audience but I could only bear 1 minute 9 seconds of Logan Paul's

final vlog before I felt like I needed to go and sit quietly in a dark room

with a large gin and tonic." I'm trying to think of someone who is less Logan

Paul's target audience than a BBC reporter.

I don't know? Richard Dawkins? John Oliver? My mom? @patdgeorgia: "so upset logan

paul quit daily vlogging....now the second grade logangster i volunteer with is

gonna be talking to me about it all day tomorrow

smfh poor guy." What do you guys think? Is this a smart

move on Logan Paul's part? Let us know in the comments below and for more stories

🎪 5 Smart And Durable Vertical Organizer Ideas For Small Garage 🎪 - Duration: 5:13.

Garages or tool sheds are prone to a messy state

because one either just doesn't bother to put every tool in its place

or because there is simply no storage to place the tools in.

If you are into woodworking,

then make yourself an organizer or two for your garage.

No need to think hard for inspiration because in this video,

I am going to share you 5 smart vertical organizer ideas for small garage by simphome.com.

5.Wooden Tool Rack

With only a few slats needed, you can make a fully functioning rack

that can hold practically every one of your woodworking tools.

Fasten a few slats to a frame and assemble the frame with a screw at every joint.

Hold the frame squares with clamps when assembling.

Make sure the last slat is oversized.

By marking the edge and trimming the slat to width,

you won't have to try to exactly size every part.

Make sure each hanger has a bottom groove that allows it to fit snugly.

This smart vertical organizer idea for small garage can be moved anywhere to accommodate your new tools.

4. Make Something Out of a Pallet

Lawn tools sometimes are the main source of the mess in your garage

so you need a place to hoard them all.

Repurpose your old pallet as storage.

Start by staining it and prying off some slats for easier job when attaching it later.

Attach it to the side of the shed with framing nails

and make sure to hit the studs on the other side of the wood siding.

Attach the pallet to the supporting structure on the back slats that you chopped off earlier.

However, if you didn't take the slats off,

screw or nail them into the edges of the pallet at an angle.

Note that, it's better if your pallet is five inches or higher off the ground

to prevent debris piling up in the bottom.

3. Bins, Nooks and Hose Holder

Store all your gardening gloves, paint brushes and every little tools in bins.

Hang a few bins on the wall with nooks.

You can also hang your baskets so they won't take a lot of space on the ground

if you have several of them.

Baskets naturally come in medium to large size

so they are effective to store big tools that prone to making the garage looks overstuffed.

2. Fishing Poles under the Ceiling

Those long fishing poles really create storage problem if you happen to have several of them.

Leaning them on the wall might not be a good idea

because they will fall to the floor

and your kids might step on them and eventually break.

Make a fishing pole organizer that is out of children's reach.

Hang two wire racks on the ceiling.

Make sure the gap between the two wires are not too long nor too short to fit both end of the fishing poles.

Wire racks are really cheap so this alternative is a must!

Attach two boards on the wall, one on the bottom and one about 40 cm higher.

Attach one cut pipe on each board and make sure they are aligned.

Secure the pipes to the boards with nails.

Save these smart vertical organizer ideas for small garage for you to think about.

The new Suzuki Swift Sport is very yellow.

This will probably be the most powerful version of the Swift.

They show this on the outside.

For example, the license plate is mounted on a carbon-look plate.

It has a carbon splitter, 17 inch wheels, and side skirts with the same carbon look.

At the rear there's a diffuser-like carbon-look thing with two exhaust tips and a spoiler on top.

That's it. These are the differences with the normal Swift.

Irrespective of the color, that's not much.

This is the 1.4 Boosterjet, which is different from the engine in the previous Swift Sport.

That one was naturally aspirated. This one has a turbo.

That means not that much extra horsepower; only 4.

This car has 138 hp. The previous one had 134 hp. However, it does have 70 Nm (52 lb ft) extra.

That should make it more fun to drive.

The engine is connected to a manual 6-speed transmission.

We'll test it on a different road later.

In theory it does 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds. The top speed is 210 kph (130 mph).

That's not what this car is about. These aren't astronomical numbers.

It's not incredibly fast, or...

This car is lightweight and playful.

I hope we get to test this on the Spanish roads.

For now I can tell you where we're sitting. It's a cool place to be.

It has many red accents, a red trim in the dashboard, a sports steering wheel with red stitching...

The steering wheel is nice to hold.

It has many control buttons, including for adaptive cruise control.

The car has all sorts of technologies that help to keep it safe, such as forward collision assist.

I have active lane keep assist that steers away from the median strip when I get too close.

It also has traction control, which can be switched off. We'll test that when hooning later.

Another fun interior thing is that the tachometer and speedometer are completely different.

The tachometer is red and attracts most attention.

The the right is the silver-gray speedometer. It looks sporty, but stands out less.

That's fine. You want to see the tachometer the most to know when to shift gears.

Between the gauges sits a display with a number of views.

Now it's on power mode, showing me how much torque and horsepower I'm using.

The two needles swing back and forth with the movement of my right foot.

There are a number of other views too.

There we go, shifting down a gear. I'm testing the torque.

It's fine. There we go, overtaking Polos. Always fun.

It feels like it has much grip. Fun fun.

The first acquaintance is fine.

Back to the interior, because we're stuck behind a van.

Cameraman Jesse and I sit in sport seats. These are nice seats.

They're a bit narrow if you're bigger, but I think they're comfortable.

They hug you well and support you from the sides.

The interior is okay. It suits the car's sporty looks.

Now it's time to test if the car can move.

The Swift Sport is no rival to the Clio R.S. or Fiësta ST.

Those cars are faster and beat the Swift Sport.

This car isn't about power. It's about the weight, the engine, and the driving pleasure it gives you.

This is a wonderful car to play with. It weighs less than 1,000 kg (2,200 lb). It's fun.

This car asks to play at every corner, making you smile.

Sometimes it reminds me of the 205 GTI.

I can't give the Swift Sport a bigger compliment.

About the handling.

The brakes are good and turning into a corner is nice.

It's as sharp as a ninja; it's crazy.

Because of the low weight... It's only 970 kg (2,138 lb).

You feel what happens underneath the 17 inch wheels.

When you turn in late and lift, you feel the rear slide a bit.

You do feel the safety systems take over, even with ESP switched off.

Unfortunately, pushing the button doesn't switch off ESP completely.

Of course you want to know what the Swift Sport will cost.

About 25,000 euros.

A lot of goodies are standard.

If that's too much for you, you can also choose a less powerful engine with a Sport Line package.

Such a cool-looking Swift starts at 18,999 euros, but it won't be very fast.

Interested in Kia Sorento.

You might want to take a look at the 2018 Ford Edge Sport.

It can do things Sorento can't.

[MUSIC]

Like parallel or perpendicular park by simply pressing a button,

and following a few prompts.

[MUSIC]

And when you feel the need for speed,

Edge Sports EcoBoost powered V-6 delivers a class-leading 315 horsepower.

What's more, Serrento doesn't offer inflatable rear safety belts or

knee airbags.

You can get both on Edge.

And how's this for longevity?

Over 97% of all Edges sold in the last 10 years are still on the road.

Better where it matters.

2019 Kia K900 first drive: Try, try again - Duration: 7:28.

Let's get

one thing straight up front: There's no rational reason for Kia to bring a second-gen

K900 sedan to the U.S. Large sedan sales, if not tanking, are at least flatlining, and

the flattest line of the bunch last year led directly to the big Kia, which found just

455 takers for the entire year.

For reference, BMW sells that many 5-Series sedans roughly every four days.

Thing is, as far as I can tell after spending half a week in Korea with brand bosses and

PR folks, Kia doesn't really seem to care that much.

The car does quite well in its home country, and if we Yanks can't quite wrap our heads

around a Kia luxury sedan, so be it –- the K900 sits in our showrooms to demonstrate

the opulence Kia is capable of, hopefully casting a gilded tint upon the Rios, Optimas

and Sorentos most buyers are coming to see anyway.

The brand's well-received Stinger sports sedan serves a similar halo purpose, though

with significantly higher sales expectations vs. the K900.

Sizewise, the K900 is something of a tweener; it's a little longer than a BMW 5-Series/Audi

A6 but smaller than a 7-Series/A8.

The Mercedes S-Class is close in dimensions, as is Hyundai's Genesis G80/G90 –- not

surprising since the latter shares its basic architecture with the big Kia.

It's a good base upon which to build: Genesis sedans have impressed editors at Autoweek

and beyond with their refinement, roominess and ease-of-use.

Though there are additional models globally, all U.S. K900s will come with the same 365-hp

twin-turbo V6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission found throughout the Genesis

lineup.

All-wheel drive will be standard, and only two basic trim levels will be offered, described

by Kia operatives as "luxurious" and "more luxurious" (which we'd kill to see printed

in script form on a trunk badge).

Since U.S. sales aren't expected to start until late fall 2018, numerous details are

yet to be decided, including exact vehicle content and, of course, price; mid-$50K to

low-$60K would be a safe range to expect, however.

For that money, buyers can expect a leather-swaddled interior with power assists galore; there's

a new pinch-and-zoom 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation system with an additional rotary

controller on the console, a la BMW and Benz.

Rear seat passengers have ample legroom, though the K900 doesn't feel as big in back as

a long-wheelbase Audi or Cadillac CT6.

It's helped by what we assume will be an optional executive reclining rear seating

setup with comprehensive controls in a fold-down center armrest.

Kia's also making a big deal of its new ambient lighting system: 64 colors are available,

but seven unique hues have been designed in conjunction with Pantone, the color experts

familiar to every graphic artist and publisher on earth.

Selected colors appear throughout the cabin, but the effect is subtle; Kia wanted the ambient

lighting to be just that –- ambient -– so it's more an understated wash of color across

the interior surfaces.

One final feature found on none of the competition, save Genesis, is Kia's 100K-mile/10-year

powertrain warranty.

For the luxury car customer who leases a new sedan every two or three years, it's a moot

point.

But the budget-conscious luxury buyer Kia seeks may be more interested in long-term

ownership, and for them it's a strong selling point.

If you've ever been to Korea, you also know why Kia (and Hyundai) can offer it -– cars

in Seoul in particular suffer binary, full-throttle/full-brake operation in horrendous traffic; if they can

survive there, even the harshest American drivers shouldn't be a problem.

The Execution

Previous K900s felt about four-fifths finished -– the luxury was there, but dynamics were

wanting and vague steering made even straight-line driving an odd, floaty affair.

These issues have all been resolved on the 2019 K900, and the new model is a legitimate

fully baked large luxury sedan at an entry-luxury price.

From the driver's seat, the big Kia is space-capsule silent; the 3.3-liter turbo engine delivers

gobs of torque, but the sound deadening makes it clear the K900 isn't intended to be a

sports sedan.

There's nothing more than a faint mechanical hum in the distance as you're pushed back

in the seat.

The powertrain, shared with other Kia and Genesis models, is a highlight thanks to its

effortless thrust; the only place I found it wanting was during transitions between

the economy-boosting coast mode and power application where some judder presents itself

as the driveline reconnects.

Considering the underpinnings shared with larger Genesis sedans, the Kia's isolated-but-unflappable

steering and beautiful chassis composure are welcome but not surprising.

Though it's difficult to imagine the American buyer who's getting a Kia K900 in which

to be chauffeured about, it's worth mentioning that the reclining, heated rear seats on our

tester proved a lovely place in which to float along.

It's not quite Bentley serene since some suspension noise is telegraphed through the

rear chassis, but for a quarter the price Kia has crafted a beautiful rear cabin, even

if it's just some lucky suburban kids (or grandparents being picked up at the airport)

who get to enjoy it.

The Takeaway

Brand be damned, $55K is a lot of money, and despite the enormous brand perception/quality

inroads Kia has made, the K900 will simply be a tough sell to most Americans.

That said, coupled with the Stinger, it may get some curious shoppers into Kia showrooms,

even if they leave in a Cadenza or a Sorento.

A few luxury car buyers less interested in badge cachet than the actual vehicle may even

leave in a K900, and Kia seems content to consider that strategy successful for now.

In 1956, Dutchman Piet den Hartogh purchased his first Ford car, an action that would set

into motion his long-lived love affair with the marque.

As the years went on, one Ford became two, which became 50 and then became 200.

In the 1990s, Hartogh's wife suggested he make something of the collection, and the

Den Hartogh museum was built near Amsterdam.

For more than 20 years, the museum has given admission to the public, but recently, ticket

sales haven't been enough to sustain the Ford collection.

Den Hatogh's story ended when auctioneer Bonham's announced that it would be selling the entirety

of the museum's contents with no reserve.

At it's current state, the collection is comprised of more than 200 Ford and Lincoln vehicles,

as well as more than 50 motorcycles.

The brunt of the cars are pre-war cars, including the Models A and T that put Ford on the map.

There are also a significant number of commercial vehicles, like pickups, buses, campers, and

fire trucks.

A virtual walk-through is available on the museum's web site.

Rupert Banner, Bonhams Group Head of Motoring, commented: "This is an extraordinary opportunity,

and one which Bonhams is delighted to have been selected to undertake.

The Den Hartogh collection is legendary throughout Europe, and has been a pilgrimage for Ford

aficionados for many years.

It will be a pleasure to offer this astonishing range of Fords and Lincolns on site at the

museum which has so carefully housed them for the past 21 years."

The collection will be put on the auction block June 23.

Compare 2018 Nissan Murano With 2018 Ford Edge Sport | Head to Head | Ford - Duration: 0:55.

Is this the Most Functional Stealth Camper Van Conversion? - Updates to Tylers Ford E350. - Duration: 6:06.

(light jazzy music)

- Hey again, everybody.

Tyler here with my Ford E350.

You may remember me from Forrest's last video

where we did a big tour of my van.

And we wanted to do just a quick update

addressing a lot of the questions that were

brought up in that video and introduce you to

my new little buddy Casper.

We're gonna go with addressing the shower question first,

because that was huge.

Everyone was asking about how I do it

without getting everything wet.

We didn't set it up right the first time

so we're gonna do it.

So the shower tank is right here.

Normally it doesn't sit right there.

It hooks up right here.

Shower curtain comes out from where

the toilet is now residing.

This guy.

(light music)

And there you have your shower curtain,

and you just put a plastic tote there

to catch all the water,

and pour it in my gray water collection.

Goes open here.

Hello.

(light music)

This has been modified from the shelf

that rolled down, or that folded down, sorry.

And then I've just made it into a net up here

to hold everything.

Sleeping bags, extra clothes, keyboard still in here,

and lots of just backpacking equipment and stuff.

But it's really upped the storage quite a bit.

Made it less of a hassle with this swinging

thing all the time.

Guitar has moved down here to a stand.

It used to be hanging beside the bed

but I found that I would bang into it

with my elbow all the time.

It just got to be kinda cumbersome and annoying

and would de-tune by whacking against the wall,

which I found to be really irritating.

And my laptop kept sliding around.

So I made this little bookshelf

to kinda store things, and books,

and my little drawing tablet.

One of the biggest things, the biggest change,

is this little guy.

Casper?

Oh, he's not in there.

Uh, in his kennel, I took the door off of a

standard kennel and made some custom hardware.

So he has a little place to live.

It's insulated with reflectics.

And lined with fleece so the walls are really soft,

and it keeps cool in there in the summer.

And it kept him really warm during the

winter months for sure.

And the trash can has now been converted

to Casper's food.

This is a great place to put it where he can't get at it.

I've added another water jug underneath,

another 25 liters.

And I've since gone with a single burner stove

instead of the dual burner,

which is a lot easier to deal with.

Unscrewing and screwing-in the propane

was just getting to be a hassle.

Great new location for the toilet.

That stops it from coming out.

And I've also, for the cleanliness and stuff I installed

a 12-volt shop vac.

It can reach like every corner of the van.

(vacuum humming)

Back here if you need to, the counter, the dog.

(laughing)

Yeah, that's been really helpful.

In regards to the rainwater,

I've had a lot of questions of if I'm drinking it,

or storing it, or giving it to friends, etc., etc.

And that's not the case.

It was just a gimmicky thing that I installed

because I saw that the rainwater collected there.

And if it does get collected, it just gets used

on my mountain bike or to clean mud off my tires.

And we've moved the water tank that was way up here

down here facing out the back to wash my bike.

So this is the fill port where you fill it up.

And we'll go out back and check that out.

(equipment rumbling)

Yeah, initially I had it, I had the larger tank

as the shower tank.

But I found that showering with cold water

got really irritating.

So I switched to the smaller tank 'cause it was

a lot easier to put hot water in the smaller tank

and I only ended up needing that much water.

I end up using this and the shower more

now they've been switched.

And I have much more storage space

because this entire tank came down here

instead of being where my clothes and stuff used to be.

2018 Ford Expedition Review: A Massive Improvement - Duration: 13:38.

The verdict: Big, bold and fully updated, the Expedition has the goods to take the sales

crown away from the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Versus the competition: It may not have a V-8, but you won't miss the two extra cylinders;

it has plenty of power and more usable space and useful technology than any other SUV in

the class.

Just as minivans replaced the family station wagon in the 1980s, so too did big SUVs vanquish

those vans in the 1990s.

Since then, however, the Great Recession and occasional gas price shocks have returned

the largest SUVs to their original role in the market: expensive vehicles bought by people

who need big, multi-passenger vehicles that can tow a lot of weight.

The segment leaders are the Chevrolet Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, and

it isn't hard to figure out why: Their main competitor, the Ford Expedition, hadn't seen

a major update in almost a decade.

Now all that has changed.

Behold the behemoth: an all-new 2018 Ford Expedition that aims to knock the Chevy off

its top-truck throne — as it did in our Full-Size SUV Challenge.

Old-School Truck, New-School Materials Like the old Expedition, the new one maintains

traditional, trucklike body-on-frame construction.

Under the skin, the Expedition is an F-150 enhanced with an independent rear suspension

instead of a solid live axle.

This arrangement also allows for a lower load floor in the cargo area, enabling the third

row to fold away completely — an advantage over the Chevy Tahoe's seats, which fold flat

but not into the floor.

The Tahoe's raised floor eats into cargo space and makes it more difficult to load objects.

Like the F-150, the Expedition's body is now aluminum, but the weight difference for 2018

isn't that significant — just a 119-pound decrease for the base trim versus a comparable

2017 Expedition.

Ford added all kinds of equipment and sound insulation that serve to offset some of the

benefit of lightweight aluminum.

The body looks slick, with a new and thoroughly modern appearance that's much more in keeping

with the modern style of truck: high beltline, smaller windows and chunkier style.

It's fresh, attractive and has a distinctly more aerodynamic look than the outgoing model.

The Expedition comes in two lengths: Expedition and Expedition Max (formerly Expedition EL).

The extra room doesn't do anything for passenger space, but it does increase the cargo area

behind the third row, so you're not forced to choose between extra rear passengers and

extra luggage capacity.

My primary test vehicle was a regular-length Expedition, though Cars.com editors have also

driven the Max.

Old-Style Power, New-Style Engine Powering the new Expedition is Ford's ubiquitous

twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, a carryover engine.

It puts out a healthy 375 horsepower in most trim levels and 400 hp in the top Platinum.

New to the setup is a standard 10-speed automatic transmission — available with either rear-

or all-wheel drive — and an electronic limited-slip differential.

Fire up the V-6 and it sounds like a well-tuned turbo-diesel.

Some of the engine's noise is artificially generated through the stereo (all that soundproofing

would prevent you from hearing the engine otherwise), but the sound that does come through

is a fun mix of whooshing turbos and raspy exhaust.

It sounds sufficiently butch for the truck it powers.

I found driving it to be quite a pleasant surprise, as well — the V-6 more than adequately

powers the Expedition in both regular and Max versions, and it gets even punchier when

you twist the rotary drive mode selector into Sport.

Climbing the canyons above Malibu, Calif., handling the tight, twisting sweepers, descending

into quick switchbacks — the Expedition exudes confidence and stability.

Sport mode tightens up steering feedback and changes both accelerator sensitivity and transmission

shift points, making those twisties even easier to take.

Nobody will confuse the Expedition for a Mustang, but it by no means embarrasses itself on high-speed,

challenging roads.

Ride quality is also outstanding.

Wheel sizes vary from 18 to 22 inches depending on trim level and equipment.

Higher-spec trims get an electronically adjustable suspension, but lesser models' suspensions

provide a smooth, well-controlled ride, as well; there are no crazy, tippy body motions.

If you need an off-road rig, Ford's got you covered there, too: An FX4 package is available

that brings underbody protection, a low-range transfer case, special tuning for the electronic

limited-slip differential, Michelin Primacy tires on smaller wheels, off-road shocks,

a heavy-duty radiator and unique badging.

Hooked up to a 5,500-pound camper, my Expedition towed like a champ, chugging up 6 percent

inclines with ease, accelerating despite the load it hauled.

The 10-speed automatic is well-matched to the engine, holding gears on downhill grades

to save the Expedition's brakes and maintain easy control.

The instrument panel also shows you tons of information, such as which gear the transmission's

in at any given time.

Trailer sway control comes with a heavy-duty towing package, as does Ford's super-nifty

Pro Trailer Backup Assist feature, which allows you to back up a trailer using a dedicated

rotary knob on the dash and backup cameras.

It takes the guesswork and trial and error out of backing up a trailer, making even the

newest novice look like a veteran trucker.

Hooked up to a 5,500-pound camper, my Expedition towed like a champ, chugging up 6 percent

inclines with ease, accelerating despite the load it hauled.

Where the Expedition falls short is in fuel economy, especially when towing.

It also features a smaller gas tank than its main competition, meaning its overall range

is notably shorter.

The regular Expedition is EPA-rated at 17/24/20 mpg city/highway/combined with two-wheel drive,

17/22/19 mpg with four-wheel drive.

The longer Expedition Max clocks in at 17/23/19 mpg with 2WD, 16/21/18 mpg with 4WD.

In a recent real-world test for the Full-Size SUV Challenge, my Expedition 4WD achieved

21.5 mpg in combined driving, better than its 19 mpg rating.

But that number dropped dramatically to 10.2 mpg when towing a camper — a steeper loss

than the V-8-powered competitors in our Challenge exhibited, though still not the lowest mpg.

Turns out that the twin-turbocharged engines positively suck down the petrol when you put

the engine under some serious load, as I did up and down the hills of eastern Arizona.

Combine that with the smaller gas tank, and you'll be making frequent pit stops if you're

towing a trailer cross-country.

Better Inside, But Details Are Important The interior looks as if it could have been

lifted directly from the F-150, with all the pros and cons that entails.

It's spacious, with excellent outward visibility, but the front seats feel unsupportive over

longer voyages.

One of our taller reviewers could not get comfortable, with his legs always at an angle

and most of his thighs unsupported by the oddly short bottom cushions.

The backseats are high, with plenty of room, and the ability to slide fore and aft means

passengers in the two rear rows can negotiate legroom amongst themselves.

The third row is usable for adults even when the second row is adjusted all the way rearward;

slide it forward a bit and there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

The second row also tilts and slides forward at the touch of a button, making ingress to

the third row easier.

Materials quality in the cabin is mixed.

The F-150 isn't known for having the best environment in its own class; it features

plenty of hard plastic and seams between parts that simply don't flow together well.

Some of this, like plastic molding seams on the grab handles, can be chalked up to early

build quality, but some of it is simply how it's designed — it's a pickup truck that's

been given a healthy makeover, but it's still a pickup truck in the ways that count.

For a vehicle that can easily approach $90,000 in fully loaded Platinum trim and even top

$70,000 for a well-equipped Limited model, this kind of detail is important.

All the fancy quilted leather in the world doesn't excuse the fact that other parts look

cheap.

The Latest Tech Thankfully, Ford loads you up with tech goodies

for that kind of coin, including gadgets that entertain (you can stream live TV to the entertainment

system via Slingplayer and Sync 3, or even hook up a big-screen TV for tailgating), some

that keep you safe (all kinds of lane-keeping aids, steering aids, anti-collision aids and

autonomous braking systems), and some that help you drive (like the aforementioned trailer

backup assist).

The high-end audio system is by the new B&O Play brand, a division of Bang & Olufsen,

and it sounds fantastic.

The entire experience in the Expedition is one of a significant upgrade, easily on par

with the Chevy and GMC models on many levels and surpassing them in flexibility, spaciousness

and amenities.

All This Utility Does Not Come Cheap If you haven't priced out a full-size SUV

in awhile, you'd better sit down for this next part.

The starting price for an Expedition XL 4x2 is $49,290 including destination charges,

but you'll never see that price on a dealer lot — they're meant for fleet sales to utilities

or city governments.

Far more likely to be found is an XLT trim, which starts at $52,985 with two-wheel drive.

Specifying four-wheel drive adds between $3,000 and $3,200 to the price depending on trim

level.

Add in everything you can get and you're looking at an Expedition Max Platinum 4x4 that will

stop just short of 85 grand.

My regular-length Limited 4x4 model stickered at $72,655 including destination, and that

included several popular equipment packages and leather for the first and second rows.

For comparison's sake, the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator starts around $73,000 and can top

out around $100,000.

Still, the Expedition's price is easily competitive with vehicles like the Tahoe, Suburban and

GMC Yukon.

It comes in at a bit more than the Nissan Armada, but it's a significantly larger vehicle

with a much bigger interior.

It's comparable in size to the Toyota Sequoia but has far surpassed that old, outdated model.

It's more refined, with a much nicer interior and a multimedia system that's at least two

or three generations more current.

With buyers snapping up big SUVs in increasing numbers, Ford's update to its big truck comes

at the perfect time.

That the truck is as good as it is should put Chevy on notice.

You Can Now Buy an Officially-Licensed, Brand-New 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 - Duration: 4:01.

The opportunity to own a brand-new, 50-year-old muscle car is rare indeed, but things just

got a little easier thanks to a new run of continuation Boss 429, Boss 302, and Mach

1 Mustangs being developed by a company called Classic Recreations under official license

from Ford.

The two Boss models and its Mach 1 counterpart are among the most sought-after 'Stangs in

the history of the legendary pony car.

Developed back when racing homologation rules were strict and inter-manufacturer competition

was cutthroat, the trio of high-performance trims were all on sale together for two glorious

years at the tail end of the Sixties.

Talk about the ultimate reunion.

This will be the first official continuation of the legendary Boss 429 Mustang, which packed

a 429-cubic-inch V-8 built to take on the Chrysler Hemi engines that dominated NASCAR

at the time.

Underrated at around 400 horsepower and enhanced with other racing tech like an engine oil

cooler and a manually-controlled hood scoop, it was by far the most track-capable version

of the Mustang Ford had ever built.

Just under 1,400 were made, and they fetch big bucks today—a meticulously restored

example sold for $550,000 at a Barrett-Jackson auction back in 2015.

And thanks to a newly-built Boss 429 engine with modern internals as well as a new chassis,

the continuation car should drive even better than the original.

(It probably won't be much cheaper, though, given all the work that went into development.)

The Boss 302 and Mach 1 Mustangs may not command sky-high prices at auction, but they're still

incredibly cool cars.

The Boss 302 Mustang, for example, was developed as a response to the performance success of

the Chevrolet Camaro and the need to stay competitive in the SCCA Trans-Am racing series.

The continuation Boss 302 will come with either a modern Ford Coyote V-8 crate engine or a

363-cubic-inch stroker with an original 302 engine block, while the new-old Mach 1 can

be equipped with any engine in the shop—including an EcoBoost four-cylinder, if you really want

to make purists mad.

Look for the continuation Boss 429 Mustang to be formally unveiled at the 2018 SEMA show

in November, with the other two coming out shortly after that.

If you're concerned about the newer cars missing that classic je ne sais quoi found in old

machines, take heart that Classic Recreations already has extensive experience building

continuation Shelby Mustangs that are quality vehicles by all accounts.

And as it points out in the press release, cars are usually taken off the road when they

reach a stratospheric price point like the Boss 429, so continuation cars are designed

to provide that precious, old-school experience in a vehicle that doesn't need to be perfectly

preserved to maintain value.

Hey, it's practically a public service.
