Trapped in her current marriage to a handsome rich
But very emotionally lacking husband leaving her feeling quite alone
You scared me the last time we talked
You know me I
never sleep

Plainly wrapped package with a novel written by her ex-husband whom she hasn't seen in 19 years
It's a bit strange. Yeah quite a surprise I would say
She begins reading his novel which dwells into a very dark concept
extremely disturbing content
but it's brilliantly performed by the entire cast a
Special recognition for me goes to Aaron taylor-johnson. Oh, yeah who plays a role so
Unbelievable he's just oh. He's so frightening to me more frightening than many horror film characters
He sent chills down my spine just listening to him and watching him how about him, too?
This film is brilliance. Are we in the present tense are we in the past tense is this part of the novel?
You're figuring out where you're at all the time
Every minute every second of this film is captivating you won't want to miss a second
We had our eyes glued the entire time
Movie I couldn't talk away
Either one of us, so that says some the ending was very surprising
But an emotional twist only leaving a single tear and out
And you'll figure out what I mean by that just watch the movie. We can't tell you more
So many aspects left for you to figure out
masterful I
Found a few messages entwined in this film
One
Sensitivity often seen as weakness
And if you pass up on something you may never find the opportunity to have it again and lastly
Don't drive down barren roads in the pitch darkness for goodness sakes
That's a good lesson

Which take place in the present the novel and the past?
Not really gonna get into too much detail here. We'll give you a little bit
Each of these are uniquely gripping in their own way, and they transition from scene to scene
Masterfully you never really know when it's gonna happen. Just bloom also in the transfers
It's really seen what's the way to go about it? Yeah? The photography is really cool
They got some scenes where they fade in and out
So different silhouettes of each other yeah most movies, I'm like okay
They're fading to hear another scene or they're fading to be here another scene and this movie just like in the movie itself keeps you
Guessing also you really know when they're gonna fade to the next scene I feel like
the plot centers around Susan Amy Adams who receives a manuscript from her ex-husband
She hasn't heard from in somewhat years for a novel. He wrote which is dedicated to her
bit strange
along with an invitation to dinner
which we'll get more into of me Susan becomes haunted and most by the dark violent content of this novel and
This about the affection of her second husband who's played by Armie Hammer very well. Yes. He did a good job being the
cold callous cunning guy
Now us as the viewers begin debate. Is this novel a work of fiction is it not and you begin asking yourself these questions
Often along with many others as you're watching this movie
soon after Susan also begins reminisce about her past of Edward and how they first met and that's a whole nother plot as well and
These three plots. It's intertwined masterfully to make one great cinematic experience
Nocturnal animals is the type of film that I love?
Not a dull moment from start to finish. This movie makes you feel the full range of emotions
Most importantly it makes you think and question everything you're watching at all times
Every little moment with a more philosophical meaning hidden behind it even
The ending of this film which strike a touched on briefly I loved a time

It's very difficult in this particular film
To not give things away because there's so much in there
Oh, yeah, I'm really trying
Yeah, the cinematography was gorgeous to look as I said
It's the way they went about filming everything and the scenes and the background it was just amazing yeah
There's one shower scene in particular
where they just showed him and then they show her and they kind of fade it in and then yeah and just the
house itself in a way it looks and then she's walking around just
Really nice to look at I have not even begun to talk about the acting which of course has top-notch performances across the board
Straight across you forget this becomes a movie at times because you're so immersed in the experience
Jake Gyllenhaal top-notch performance as the center of this novel she is reading
And he didn't play quite his
bizarre type character as usual
Yeah
It was a little he was a little bit different than this one amy adams did a great job
Michael Shannon who was amazing as this sheriff down in Texas? He was so believable his character was awesome
When you see him, you won't know this way that way, but he keeps you guessing as well
Oh yeah, and I can't not mention Aaron taylor-johnson. Oh, yeah
He gets an extra shout out because his character was so this
Freaky in this movie, and he believed every moment. He was on the screen oh
He was just frightening to me. Oh yeah top notch
I didn't see him as an actor like that's all I miss the person on the screen. It was amazing
Frankenstein Dracula next to this David I run from hands dead
They can't be looking like wimps at the end of the day nocturnal animals was my one of my favorite cinematic
Experiences in a long time. I haven't had a movie feel this much of an impact on me in a while
The kind of movie that makes you think and will stick with you for days on end afterwards
And you'll be thinking constantly about this about that about this
Yeah, and some of the thoughts you have about this movie. I'm not sure a good thing
Yeah, but now I gotta give my grade and like I set the bar pretty high for this one
I'm gonna have to give nocturnal animals. Let's see an A+
In the first on the home view a full Rock a + o top not across the board
Definitely a recommendation
For older viewers that don't mind disturbing content got that out once again
Yes, sensitive people may not want to see this this movie is not for everyone, but if this is your thing it's definitely recommended

Your SYNC 3 navigation system delivers audible directions,
travel information and maps to any destination you desire.
But there may be a few things you're still not familiar with that can help make using
it a little simpler.
Let me tell you about them.
To cancel a route that you've set from the navigation screen
touch the Controls button on the bottom left corner.
Menu, Cancel Route, then Yes in the pop-up.
To view a turn by turn list, touch Controls,
Menu, Screen View and then Turn List.
To return to full-screen map view, simply touch anywhere on the map.
If you'd like to change the map orientation,
press the navigation arrow in the top right corner.
Here, you can view it by the current direction your vehicle is traveling,
3D view or true north.
To add a favorite destination, again, touch Controls, Destination,
Favorites, then Add a Favorite.
Next, type in a destination address and hit Save.
The address will be saved in the favorites list for easy access.
If you prefer not to have audible directions,
you can always mute the system by simply pressing the speaker icon.
To unmute, press it again.
And finally, to zoom in or
out on the map, you can either press the plus to zoom in and the minus to zoom out.
Or press the aerial distance next to the plus and minus buttons.
You can also pinch and zoom directly on the touch screen.

New MG ZS 2017: Compact SUV launches in the UK - price, specs, release date
MG has launched the new ZS 2017 in the UK. The compact SUV made its first appearance at the London Motor Show earlier this year but officially launched last night.
Prices for the compact SUV start at £12,495 which makes it around £2,500 cheaper than the equivalent Nissan Juke.
MG says the new ZS has been manufactured with distance British feel and has been tested on UK roads and developed for UK drivers.
The car comes with three trim levels - Explore, Excite and Exclusive. Both the Excite and Exclusive trim levels also come with three power-assisted steering modes - Urban, Normal and Dynamic - which are supposedly tailored for British roads.
Urban mode offers lighter and quicker response while at low speeds and while parking while Dynamic mode increases the steering effort to increase the centre definition at medium and high speeds and Normal maintains a consistent ride.
Powering the car is a choice between a 1. 5-litre DOHC VTI-tech, four-cylinder engine paired with a five speed manual or a 10-litre GDI turbocharged, three cylinder which comes with a six-speed automatic.
This allows the car to sprint from zero-62mph in 10.9 seconds. MG say the car's design reflects a new direction for the company which is being dubbed as 'Emotional Dynamism' which is set to feature across all of its upcoming models. The car boasts a distinctive new grille with company emblem at the centre of it.
From the front it resembles the new Mazda CX5 slightly but with a flatter side profile. The MG ZS, as standard in Arctic White, also comes with a range of colours and metallic options – Laser Blue, Black Pearl, Cosmic Silver and Spiced Orange, as well as a specially-developed tri coat Dynamic Red paint option.
The car comes with a generous 448-litre boot space which has a split life for easier access. Inside the car the ZS comes with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system supported by DAB radio (on the Exclusive and Excite models).
Bluetooth hands-free remote central locking and cruise control come as standard across the range, while air air condition comes as standard on Excite and Exclusive Models and Satellite Navigation on Exclusive models.
It comes with a seven year/80,000 mile warranty as standard for all variants in the range. The car is available to buy now in the UK from MG dealerships.

This piece that I'm working on is
named after a Russian cruise ship
called the Lyubov Orlova that was moored in
St. John's in Newfoundland.
It was apparently being towed to be scrapped
and the line broke and it went loose in the Atlantic.
Legend has it the boat was filled with cannibal rats.
So it's a little bit of a sort of creepy soundtrack to this
ship that's adrift in the Atlantic.
There's just these layers of, kind of, abandonment
and hauntingness that kind of attracted me.
Musically, it lined up metaphorically with some of the
musical ideas I was already exploring in terms of drift,
and endlessness,
and also the tone and texture.
I have a custom piece of software that was written
to do interactive music, and generative music, and
adaptive music, and
it helps me script and design the music
and how it should flow,
when it's random, when it's sequential,
how long the silences should be—things like this.
So I compose the music
and write it in these tiny little components
and then load these into the custom program
and design it out and then hit play
and audition it and just continue to refine it from there.
These are almost soundtracks for me.
So a lot of the sounds, like in this case, I've got some
random bursts of static.
I mean, I like working with noise, but in this case it was
almost a literal noise and imagining like a dead radio
on the ship, that's maybe still partly working
and still picking up signals.
And then there's just some
you know, haunting voices, some sort of harmonic
strings, some other layers
that are just really there to provide atmosphere.
I thought this might be
a step even further in terms of providing someone a
background to work to, or a background to think to,
or a background to just relax to,
or to just immerse yourself in and become a
you know really deep listen for a while.
It's meant to be just something
you can sort of come into and out of.

This Barricade Adventure HD front bumper, fitting the 2007 and up JKs, are gonna be
for those of you that are looking for a mid-width front bumper that is going to be a little
less expensive, a little lighter weight than some of the other options out there, but is
still packed with a ton of off-road features and, in my opinion, some pretty great style.
This bumper is going to install very, very easily onto the front of your JK.
As with most other aftermarket bumpers, this is gonna be a completely bolt-on, one out
of three wrench installation that you can get done in right around an hour.
And we'll talk more about that installation in just a second.
Now, Barricade does offer a couple of different front bumpers for your JK.
They have the Trail Force HD, the Extreme HD.
This is going to be the least expensive of those three options from Barricade, but that
doesn't mean that it has any fewer features or that it is not as well-built.
Again, still very well-built, chock-full of features, but will save you a little bit of
money and just gives you a little bit different flavor as far as the styling goes.
So, like I said, this is gonna be a mid-width front bumper from Barricade.
Because it is mid-width, it's gonna have room still for your factory fog-lights, which is
a feature I always look for in an aftermarket bumper.
You already have those lights, it's wired for it, switched for it.
You are ready to go to use those lights, so why not pick a bumper that allows you to use
them?
And this will do just that.
So you're gonna be able to put your factory lights right in here.
As far as other off-road features go, it's going to have not just a single bar, it's
gonna have a double bar, which is more akin to that Extreme HD styling up on top here.
And it has two light-mount taps to mount some auxiliary lighting right on the center of
the bar.
Of course, down here, you're going to have a winch mount plate, so you're not going to
have to purchase any additional hardware if you do wanna mount a winch on the front of
your Jeep.
Down here, these holes are going to be for style to lighten up the Jeep a little bit.
And these are going to be more rectangular than the square holes that are on the Trail
Force HD bumper.
Right here, you're gonna have your D-ring mounts.
And this does come with D-rings like most of the other Barricade options.
So you're going to have these in order to use them for a tow strap or a snatch strap
recovery.
Or, even if you do have a winch, you're gonna be able to go to a snatch block, back to the
bumper again using these very strong and very beefy shackle mounts.
And so what makes this different from the Trail Force HD and the Extreme HD?
So, like I said, the bar up on the top here is going to be kinda like the Extreme HD,
being the double bar instead of the single that's on the Trail Force HD.
And this area here, instead of having just one section that pops up for your fairlead
mount, like on the Trail Force HD, this goes all the way across here, giving you almost
a more sunken winch look, which is something I really like on this bumper.
This, of course, has the same textured black powder coat finish as most of the other Barricade
stuff, as well as a lot of the other aftermarket parts you can get for your Jeep, so it's going
to match.
It's also going to match really well to the factory black plastic accents that are on
your Jeep.
So you're going to have a very cohesive look.
I mentioned before that the install of this bumper is a very simple one out of three wrenches,
probably about an hour to get this installed.
The first step is, of course, removing that factory front bumper from your Jeep.
You're gonna do that by removing the fog light sockets from the fog light housings, by either
pinching them, giving them a quarter turn depending on the year of your Jeep, unbolting
the bumper and then just giving it a pull and then taking that bumper completely off.
From there, you can unbolt these fog lights from the factory bumper and bolt them into
your aftermarket bumper.
At this point, you're gonna wanna go ahead and relocate that vacuum pump if you have
a 2012 and up JK.
That is an actual piece that you're gonna have to buy if you wanna buy a kit.
Of course, you can fab something up, do it yourself if you choose to.
But this winch plate will get in the way of that vac pump on the later year JKs.
Once you have the vacuum pump relocated and out of the way, you can go ahead and set the
bumper over the frame rails and use the included hardware to bolt it down.
Now, I like to mount my winch on my bumper with the bumper on the ground instead of already
having it mounted on the Jeep.
It makes it easier to get to those winch mounting bolts.
However, once you have a winch mounted onto this bumper, it makes the package much heavier.
So if you don't have an extra set of hands to help you move this thing around, it'll
probably make more sense to mount the bumper onto the Jeep and then the winch onto the
bumper.
Really doesn't matter, it's up to you, whatever you think is easiest and most feasible with
what you have at hand.
So this bumper comes in a right around $270.
That is going to be less expensive than the Extreme HD and the Trail Force HD bumpers
from Barricade, which are going to be other options that are going to be very similarly
built and with similar styling cues.
However, we already talked about how this one is going to be a little bit different.
Now, there are going to be bumpers that are two, three times as much just for a front
bumper that's going to have similar features and, in my opinion, its also going to be similarly
well-built.
Now, if you're looking for a name brand, if you want a more premium bumper that's going
to cost more, those options are out there.
But if you're looking for a very fairly-priced front bumper that still has a ton of features
that are going to be great for both on-road and off-road, I think this is going to be
a very nice choice.
So if you're looking for an affordable mid-width front bumper packed full of on-road and off-road
features, I definitely recommend taking a look at the Adventure bumper by Barricade

The 3 Best Jeep Wrangler Tub Mounted Tire Carriers For 2007 - 2017 JK - Duration: 9:37.

for tub mounted tire carriers for your 2007 and up JK.

Now, when you are running a larger tire on your Jeep it can pose a problem for carrying
that spare.
When you have a much larger and heavier spare, the factory tire mount just can't stand up
to that.
There are really three problems that you're going to encounter when you try to put a big
heavy spare on that factory mount.
The first problem is that the hinges that hold the tailgate in place can start to sag
under that additional stress and you'll have to pick up on that tailgate every time you
open and close it.
The second issue you can run into is the actual tailgate itself coming apart at the seams.
There are some welds that hold the tailgate together and when you have a lot of weight
hanging off of it those wields can fatigue and break causing rattling.
Finally, the tire carrier itself is only rated for the factory size spare tire and weight.
So when you put a much larger one on there, you're exceeding the weight that that tire
carrier is built to handle and again you can end up with metal fatigue and breaking.
Another issue is that with a much larger aftermarket spare tire, usually the tire is wider and
the wheel has a different backspacing, so everything isn't tight up against the tailgate
like it is from the factory.
That means that tires torquing and moving around again causing metal fatigue.
So a lot of issues that come up when you put in much larger than factory spare tire on
your tire carrier, and by that, I mean even a 33 that's heavy, certainly a 35 or a 37-inch
tire.
So there are some solutions to this problems.
One is a bumper mounted tire carrier.
And usually, you'll purchase bumper and the tire carrier together.
The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that you have to first opened the
tire carrier and then open the tailgate, so there are two steps to get into the cargo
area of your Jeep.
Now, some manufacturers have solved that but for the most part, it is just going to be
a two-step operation to get into the cargo area of your Jeep.
Now, the benefit to a tub mounted tire carrier like we're talking about today is that everything
is going to open in one motion, with one hand, just like your tailgate would normally open.
So, a lot of people like these solutions.
Another big benefit to going with a tub mounted tire carrier is that you can pick whatever
bumper you want out there, it doesn't have to come with the tire carrier.
So that's gonna open up some additional options for choosing a bumper.
Today we're gonna talk through three options for tub mounted tire carriers.
The first one we're going to talk about is the Barricade Extreme HD Tire Carrier with
Mount.
The second one is going to be the Rugged Ridge Spartacus Tire Carrier with the Mount, and
finally the TeraFlex Tire Carrier also with the Mouth.
So let's get into the options.
So the first option I wanna talk about today is this Barricaded HD Tire Carrier with the
Mount.
This is going to be the least expensive option that we're gonna talk about today, but it
is still a very high-quality option and it has some features that even some of the more
expensive ones are not going to have.
So what you're seeing here are really three main pieces and those pieces are going to
be the ones that solve those three problems that I talked about.
You're going to have stronger hinges, you're gonna have something beef up that tailgate,
and you're gonna have a much stronger and also adjustable tire mount.
Now, the reason that this is a little bit less expensive than some of those other options
is, one, the material that it's made out of, this is going to be steel, whereas some of
those other options are going to be aluminum, and two, these hinges are going to be metal
on metal hinges.
Some of the other ones are going to have a brass insert which is going to help with wear,
make sure that everything moves nice and smoothly for a good long time.
Not to say that there's anything wrong with these hinges, but that is part of the reason
that some of those other options are gonna be a little bit more expensive.
So again, the hinges are gonna be nice and strong, this is going to bolt directly onto
that tailgate beefing up the tailgate, and finally, the mount over here is adjustable
in two different directions, and that's important.
So this is going to be adjustable up and down so that you can set your tire as low as possible.
If you're just running a heavy 33 or a 35-inch tire, you wanna be able to adjust that down
so that it just clears the bumper and that's gonna give you maximum visibility out the
back window of the Jeep.
If you have a small 33 and it's sitting way up high, you can't see out the back window,
and in my opinion, it looks a little bit goofy as well.
So having that up-down adjustability is a very nice feature.
But maybe more important than that, this has in and out adjustability.
So if you have a wide tire, if you have a wheel with a different backspacing and you
don't have that in and out adjustability, you're gonna bolt that tire on and It's not
going to sit up against anything.
So it's gonna be able to torque and move around, that's a lot of weight hanging out there.
And what that can eventually cause is metal fatigue.
So by having this adjustable, you can push the tire nice and tight.
You're actually gonna have it tight enough that there's some sidewall pressure up against
your tailgate reinforcement piece here and that ensures that the tire, the carrier, and
the tailgate are all one solid piece, so nothing's moving around, nothing's rattling, nothing's
squeaking, and also nothing is fatiguing.
So this option, a little bit less expensive because of the hinges and the material but
still fully adjustable, which is just something that I really like.
The next option here is the Rugged Ridge Spartacus HD Tire Carrier Kit, and kit is the name because
these pieces are available independent of each other.
You can get this tailgate reinforcement and the hinge reinforcement, or you can get just
the tire carrier, so there's a couple different options there.
Now, the reason that I've put this one just a little bit above the Barricade option is,
one, this piece here is going to be aluminum which will help keep the weight down a little
bit.
And when we're talking about a big heavy spare tire, keeping weight down is definitely going
to do be a good thing.
And the other reason is in the hinges here.
These hinges have a little bit of brass in them so they're going to hold up a little
bit better than those steel on steel ones of the Barricade.
But, for those features, you are going to be spending a little bit more money.
This is going to have a similar style adjustable third brake light mount to the Barricade option,
but this is also going to come with a little bit of wiring so that you can extend that
brake light very easily.
So again, a few additional features that you are getting for the additional money that
you're spending now.
Now, the only drawback to the Rugged Ridge option is right over here in the tire mount.
I said before when we talked about the Barricade, I love the fact that it's double adjustable,
this one is only single adjustable.
Now is the more important of the adjustments.
This will allow you to suck the tire in nice and close, make sure everything is tight so
you don't have any torquing and any metal fatigue, however, it's not going to give you
that up-down adjustability, and like I said, with the Barricade, I like to be able to run
my tire as low to the bumper as possible giving me maximum visibility at the back window of
the Jeep and also aesthetically, I just like that look a little bit better.
So, if you have a little bit of a higher budget, you're okay only having the single adjustable
option, and you want something that's a little lighter weight, and with a little bit of a
beefier hinge, I'd recommend going in with this option from Rugged Ridge.
The TeraFlex HD Hinge Carrier with Adjustable Tire Mount is going to be the last option
that we're going to talk about today.
This is going to be the most expensive option, but also the nicest option, in my opinion.
Teraflex was really the first ones to build a tub mount and tire carrier like this, and
they're still the ones doing it the best, again, in my opinion.
Everything from the construction of this to the finish, to the way that things adjust,
I just really like how this kit is put together.
But, as I said, it's gonna be the most expensive option, you're gonna pay premium for this.
So the hinges over here are going to be very well-built.
They are going to stand up really well to a lot of weight over a very long period of
time.
This main support piece is going to be aluminum, again helping to keep weight down a bit, and
then you have your tire carrier over here.
And the way that this adjusts is something that I really like because it can be a little
bit tough to get that tire nice and tight up against the tire carrier.
It's one of those things where you have to lift your tire on, have the tire carrier just
tight enough so it will slide back but not too tight, then push it another eighth of
an inch, tighten it down.
This is a barrel adjustment, so it's going to have a nut and a bolt on the bottom of
it that's gonna pinch everything together.
But the way that that's design is going to make it a little bit easier to get everything
adjusted and cinched down.
As you can see here you do have three different holes so that you can lower that tire as low
as possible, so you are getting both in, out, and up-down adjustability with this setup.
So, like I said, TeraFlex is the first one to really make something like this.
My opinion, they are still doing it the best.
If you're looking for the highest quality option and you have the budget for it, I would
deftly recommend going with this one.
So those are my picks for the top tub mounted tire carriers for your 07 and up JK.
Today we talked about the Barricade HD Tire Carrier with Mount, which is going to be our
good option, saves you a little bit of money over with some of the others, is fully adjustable,
but maybe the hinges aren't quite as strong and beefy as some of the others.
We also talked about the Rugged Ridge Spartacus HD option with the Mount.
That is going to have some really big nice beefy hinges, but not have quite the adjustability
as the Barricade option, but it is gonna be less expensive than that last option that
we talked about which is the TeraFlex HD Tire Carrier with the Adjustable Mount.
That's going to be our best option, most expensive but very, very well-built, going to hold up
very well, and is also fully adjustable.

JEEP COMPASS PETROL AUTOMATIC REVIEW
Jeep entered India with their premium SUV range but it was the Compass that made everyone take notice of the automobile brand.
With a flagship-inspired design, feature rich cabin and a host of off-road tech, the Jeep Compass has emerged as a more popular offering amongst its rivals.
Needless to say, it is the Compass diesel that has been getting those strong numbers.
However, there is also the Compass petrol that seems to tick the right boxes, at least on paper.
How good is it in real world conditions?.
Design.
The Jeep Compass is a handsome SUV that comes with just the right amount of muscle.
It is the front profile that scores highly especially with the iconic seven-slat radiator grille and the sleek headlights, both of which remind closely of its elder sibling, the Grand Cherokee.
While the front profile gets sufficient aggression, the side and the rear profiles are comparatively mild in design.
The squared wheel arches, that is a Jeep trait, also adds to the functionality bit.
The Jeep Compass petrol, like the diesel, comes with 225/60 R17 tyres on the top-spec Limited variant.
Overall, the styling of the Jeep Compass is one of its strongest highlights.
The cabin of the Jeep Compass might look compact but it is reasonably spacious.
The knee room, for both row occupants, is generous.
It is the headroom and the shoulder room, that we believe could have been better, especially for taller occupants.
The Limited variant comes with 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
While the interface of this unit simple, it has a slight lag which can be felt during shuffling through different options.
However, the look and feel of the plastics and other bits in the cabin is truly upmarket and premium.
This can be see with the leather wrapped steering wheel with brushed aluminium detailing, piano black surround around the AC vents and the central unit and the soft touch buttons.
Engine and performance.
The Jeep Compass petrol comes with a 1.4-litre Multiair engine that makes 163PS at 5,500rpm and generates 250Nm at 2,500 to 4,000 rpm.
These numbers are lower than what you get in the 20-litre diesel that produces 173PS/250Nm.
The Compass petrol comes with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard along with an optional 7-speed automatic.
The petrol unit has a fairly audible note at idling speeds, that reminds me of the unit in the Abarth Punto.
It is a free-revving unit but does feel sluggish at lower engine speeds.
However, as its crosses 2,000rpm, the motor feels more confident and is in its true element in the mid-range section.
Even the exhaust note gets a tad sportier in this range.
On highways, the engine doesn't take much effort to reach higher speeds and can effortlessly cruise at 100kmph at a lower 1,800rpm.
The torque rating is lower than the diesel but feels as strong till the cut off at 6,500rpm.
In our test, the Jeep Compass petrol managed to do a 0 to 100kmph run in 10.5s.
The seven-speed dual clutch transmission in the Jeep Compass is a decent unit.
Had Jeep offered paddle shifters, the shift experience could have been better.
The 7-speed unit is not very responsive at lower engine speeds, however the kick down at higher speeds is instantaneous.
This, we believe, has been done to offer better fuel efficiency.
The Compass petrol delivered 8.44kmpl in the city and 13.63km on the highways.
Ride and handling.
Unlike the diesel, the Jeep Compass is solely offered as a front-wheel drive SUV.
And that is the reason there is a fair amount of torque steer which you would not detect in the all-wheel drive offering.
The Compass comes equipped with MacPherson strut and independent multi-link suspension in the rear.
The ride quality does feel stiff in the city but it gets better on highways with a more planted feel.
Drive the Compass over undulations and bad sections, and that is where you experience the amazing suspension of this SUV.
Even at higher speeds, the Compass holds on to the roads with great confidence and offers negligible body roll.
This is also aided by all-disc brakes that can bring the Compass to a standstill, during an emergency situation, without any drama.
Verdict.
The Compass petrol will appeal to those looking for a SUV to chart the city primarily along with an occasional dash on the highway.
The top-spec Jeep Compass petrol prices start at Rs 17.88 lakh and go all the way to Rs 23.15 lakh (all prices, on-road, Mumbai).
The top-spec Limited variant gets bi-xenon headlamps, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, traction control, hill-start assist, cornering and adaptive brake lights.
However, this one too misses on some of the important features like cruise control, auto headlamp and auto wipers.
Jeep has already raked in more than 10,000 bookings of the Compass since its launch in India.
The company is also ramping up its dealership network to 60 by the end of the year.
It is also a matter of time that the brand can win the trust of its customers and emerge as an overall winner.
